It was black. Black all around him. The darkness was so penetrating that his eyes could not adjust. The last thing he remembered was that he was standing in front of a hundred thousand people in the middle of London, telling them that something may happen in the future that will change the lives of humans. He had been ridiculed, no one wanted to listen so he had given up. He had been walking back to his car and that’s when his vision blanked.

He had woken up in this condition many times before; he could not see anything those times either. Each time he felt like he was blind, completely helpless. All he could feel around him was a cushioned floor. On one of these occasions, he had tried to walk, but found himself walking into some kind of cushioned surface. He came to the conclusion that he was possibly in a sound-proof room, but he couldn’t be sure. Then he heard a name, whispered in his head. This too had happened several times before. He could not be sure if it was his name, but he figured that it could be. “Liam, Liam”. that’s all he could hear echoing through his head.

All of a sudden, everything just disappeared. He woke up again but he could not be sure how much time had passed. As he looked around, he realised that he must be dreaming. He was in a park, but the park he was in was pure white. Just white no colour whatsoever. There was a man standing about 50 yards from him. He looked like a doctor, though an oddly shaped one; he started to walk towards him and then nothing. The rest of his sleep was dreamless.

After what felt like a long time, he was woken by a blue light that turned on- in the corner of a padded cell? He could not believe what he was seeing; someone had locked him in an asylum. “How on earth did that happen?” He swore in his head then thought, ‘I must be mad, I’m beginning to talk to myself, But I know I’m not mad. I'm completely sane.’ His head really hurt, and the only thing he remembered just after the dream was excruciating pain coming from both sides of his head. The memory of him informing the crowd of people that he had just seen into the future and that something bad was coming suddenly flashed into his mind, followed by a vision of the outside world. there was nothing but a waste land. Maybe it was a disease that could wipe out the entire country; but nobody believed him. They just looked at him and shot him some evil looks, almost as if afraid of him. Then the yelling started "Go somewhere quiet  kill yourself". ‘How could somebody say that to another human being’, he thought, horrified. He remembered someone had taken out their phone and, a couple of minutes later, he was attacked. That was when everything had gone black. There was nothing, just nothing; he had thought that he must be dead, but then remembered thinking that death couldn’t possibly be so uncomfortable.

He sat there and stared at the blue light for a while. Then he took a look around and noticed a vent. The vent was small and he could never have fit through. But as he glanced down at his body, he realised that he had lost so much weight during his time here and realised that it might actually be possible. So he set himself to the task of escaping and attempting to warn every one of the danger that might be approaching.

He was just getting the hang of moving through the vent when it suddenly gave way and sent him crashing to the floor. He stood up and brushed dust from his filthy clothes, He took a look around the room, Pieces of paper were scattered all over the floor, they looked like records, probably records of all the inmates, he thought to himself, It took him a short while but he managed to locate his file and read, he had to re-read it a few times just to be sure that what he was reading was correct and that he wasn’t just imagining it. He definitely wasn’t crazy; he could see that these were the right details; it also said that he was incarcerated for claiming that he had a psychic ability that allowed him to see into the future. The document said that the public thought of him as a threat so they called the authorities. “So I’m not mad. I’m just a psychic GREAT even better”; ‘OOPS there I go again talking to myself, wonderful’. He took another look around the room and saw that it was filthy, the walls were coated in grease and dirt, and He thought that the place must have been abandoned long ago with him still inside, left there to rot. Then he saw that there was a computer running silently in the corner. He moved over to it and noticed that the bulkheads had been locked down by an emergency switch. He clicked the release icon, and then heard several crashes run through the building, then silence. He decided not to hang around this place any longer and headed for the main entrance which proved easier than he first thought, simply because there were directions telling him where to go. He quickly located the front door and saw to his frustration that this bulkhead was still shut. He sighed with annoyance. He just stared at the door thinking. ‘How the hell am I going to get out of here’ Then there was a small nudge in his brain, it felt odd to him, like a thousand year old instinct waking up from a long hibernation. He thought hard about what he wanted to do. This of course was to escape this prison to fulfil his  personal mission, to just get out into the open world, then, all of a sudden, with a supersonic screech and a sound as if all the oxygen was being sucked from the air the door pushed backwards and crumpled onto the floor outside.
