It was 1 January 2014, I was finally moving out, moving somewhere different. Obviously my Mom was sobbing her heart out bless her, but me, well I couldn't wait to move away. I was moving to New York to my new University, St Charles University, one of the best in the Country. The only thing I knew about my Dorm mate was that it was a Boy named Joe and he was the most popularest guy in the school. Which to be honest didn't scare me at all. I've always been the popular girl myself because of the natural tanned skin I have an luxerious blonde hair I was thankfully passed down to from my mom, so I wouldnt let this "Joe" get in my way, also another thing, I will most certainly not fall for this boy, I dont fall in love, I break hearts.
"Okay Alex, your bags are packed" My mum called from down the stairs, I could hear the crokiness in her voice because she wanted to cry for the 100th time.
"Okay Mom, I'll just be a second"
I got downstairs, there was my Mom and my bestfriend Caitlin stood at the bottom of the stair way, thankfully she was coming with me, how amazing is that though? Moving out with your bestfriend to a different place in the Country, away from everything. A new fresh start. I just couldnt wait to get out of California. Unfortunaltey my Caitlin wasn't going to be staying in the same dorm as me, she was staying with some guy called Hunter, a friend shes known years from their Mom's been friends, but we've promised each other we'll not drift and we will stay in contact as much as possible. I hugged my Mom and finally she stopped crying, I tried my best to act upset but deep down I couldn't wait to get into Caitlin's pink Convertable. My Mom helped me carry all my suitcases to the car, it must have took about 20 minutes I took that much stuff.
"Gosh Alex, how much stuff are you taking?" Caitlin said whilst concentrating on driving.
"Better safe than sorry" I winked, even though she had no idea I did that has she was driving.
I pulled out a mirror out of my leather jacket and checked my makeup was still fresh and my hair wasn't messy. Luckily it wasn't so I didnt have to re-do anything whilst in the car, that would have been messy seen as Caitlin drives way other the limit, I'm actually surprised she hasn't been caught yet. We was around 5 minutes away from our new home, we was in New York, it was amazing, the buildings were huge and werent made out of brick, which was so strange has in California everything was built with pure white Wood. I loved it here, everything was just... better. The only thing that was the downfall is that NY was a little bit colder, but I wasn't really that bothered.
"Alex wake up, where here!" Caitlin screamed in my ear, making me jump so much I'm surprised the car didnt shake.
"Caitlin I was.... Oh my god, Its amazing!"
I couldnt even spit out the rest of my sentence, the scenery was just breath taking, The university was huge, I reckon it could fit up to 10,000 students into it, it wasn't made out of brick either, it was made out of stone which made it so much more unique to the other buildings, I was so excited to go inside, and more importantly, meet my room mate. I hope he's nice and not up his own ass, hate guys like that, especially if I'm living with him. We got inside and Caitlin was getting our room numbers from the receptionist while I was just looking around, the whole building smelt of sun cream, which reminded me of Summer in California, but this was a new start, no more looking back. Caitlin came running back to me squealing.
