"Liam? Where are you? Are you hurt? Please don't go yet! I love you, please!" Hayden woke with a start, sitting up and gasping for air. She was drenched in sweat, and crying. Asa tear rolled down her cheek, she wiped it away roughly. She refused to cry. She swung her legs out of bed, wincing as her still injured legs brushed against the sheets. She had been allowed home nearly a week ago, because she had begun to heal pretty quickly. But still not normal speed, so she still hurt quite a lot. She quietly dressed in jeans and and a tank top, shrugging a leather jacket on over the top. She was sick and tired of people telling her she needed to calm down, they would find him soon. She needed to find him now. And no-one, absolutely no-one , was going to stop her. She ran her fingers through her curls, before shoving her feet into her combat boots and throwing herself out her window. As she landed on her knees, she looked at the moon. It was full, and her eyes responded by glowing bright yellow. She stood up slowly, knowing that she was going to have to be careful. If anything at all triggered her, she could rip someone apart. And she really didn't want to. After calming her eyes and retrieving a bag she had previously packed with food and clothes, she walked off into the night, on her way to find her true love.
"Ugh. What the..? " Hayden sat up and clutched her head. She groaned. She was lying on the floor of the forest, using her bag as a pillow. Right. Liam. She stood up and swung her bag onto her shoulder. She took out her phone.
Valerie: Hayden! Where are you? You've been gone for ages! Please come home x
Valerie: H, please come home. I'm worried about you.
Scott: Hayden! How many times have I got to tell you that you can't just up and leave! And on the night of a full moon... I'm coming to find you.
Valerie: HAYDEN ROMERO, IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR SPOILT STUPID ASS BACK HOME RIGHT THIS SECOND, I AM COMING TO FIND YOU, AND LOCKING YOU AWAY FOR THE NEXT FORTY YEARS. GOT IT?
Scott: Hayd, at least let your sister know your safe? She doesn't know about you... I'm on my way to find you. Meet me at flat ridge rock? Be careful, there's been tales of some trouble up there. Tomorrow at 8am, kay? I want to help.
Valerie: Hayden, I'm sorry. I love you, please come home? At least let me know your safe and alive? I've phoned the police. Please baby. I love you.
Tracey: Hayden! I miss you, but have fun! Hope you find your man x
Hayden smiled and allowed herself to laugh a little. Her friends and family were insane. She looked at the hill ahead. She knew flat ridge rock was on top of it. It was 7.45. She needed to go. She'd got that text yesterday, but forgot to check her phone. She knew she couldn't go home yet, but she had to tell Val she was ok. She quickly typed a text, vague but clear at the same time.
Hayden: Val, I'm okay. I'll be home ASAP. I'm sorry, but you're gonna have to trust me on this one, kay? Love ya xx
She took a deep breath and pressed send. She then carried on up the hill. She just hoped that Scott genuinely wanted to help her, and that he wasn't just gonna drag her home there and then. She carried on up the hill, stopping to take little breaks. When she got to the top, she looked around. Scott was waiting for her, sitting on the rock. When he saw her, he jumped up and ran towards her. He hugged her, then looked at her carefully. When he determined she was ok, he stood back and crossed his arms. "Where the bloody hell have you been?! Everyone's worried sick about you. The only reason we've been waiting for you is Lydia. She told us to trust you, that you'll be safe." Scott was looking at her with such pain in his eyes, she felt really bad. She looked at the ground, fiddling with her hands. "I-I'm sorry, I just-" she was cut off by Scott's lips crashing onto hers. She jumped, but then began kissing him back. Scott was the first to pull away, a horrified look on his face. "I-I'm, uh, yeh so..." Hayden cleared her throat, and fixed her hair. "Let's go find Liam, okay? And that, uh, can't happen again." Scott nodded and looked away. Hayden was already about half a mile away. She used werewolf speed to get as far from him as possible. She sat down off the path, and broke down. She couldn't believe what she had just done. She loved Liam, but every girl, freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, they all had a crush on Scott. She wiped away her tears, and took out her phone. She dialled the familiar number, and waited for her to pick up. "Hey, Lyds? I need your help. I've done something really stupid." Over on flat ridge, Scott was doing the exact same. "Hey Stiles. I've made a dick move..." Both of the friends on the other end of the phone closed their eyes. They were in the same room, and could only guess what had happened. Both friends said, at the same time, "Right. On my way." Then Stiles and Lydia hung up. "What have we gotten ourselves into?" And then they jumped in the jeep and drove to flat ridge.
"Hayden! You're ok, thank god." Lydia hugged her friend, and then stood back. "Woah, what's up hun?" Hayden looked at Lydia, and hugged her tightly. "I-I-ki-kissed h-him. I kissed S-Scott. " Lydia stiffened. "What? Please tell me you're joking..." Hayden shook her head. She sobbed into Lydia's shoulder, not knowing what was going to happen.
"Scott, bro, what have you done?" Scott looked up at Stiles. "I kissed her Stiles. I kissed Hayden. My beta, my other beta's girlfriend, true love, first love. I-I kissed her. " Stiles sat beside him. "Woah. Dick move mate. Like, seriously." Scott nodded. "Yup." The friends sat on the hill, looking at their small town. "Might as well take her home. I probably should have told her I know where Liam is. "Really?! You are just making this worse and worse..." Scott groaned and hit his head with his fist. "I'm such an idiot!" Stiles patted him on the back. "Yeah. I know."
