Possiblities {One Shot}

Honestly, she didn't know how it happened. Was it luck? Was it a coincidence? The only thing she could think of was why her. Why would Drew Wesley ask her out? Out of all the other beautiful girls in school, he asked her. And now she had a date with him. Maria couldn't focus properly in class the present Wednesday All she could think about was Thursday.

The day of Drew and Maria's date finally came. Maria paced in her living room while listening to Sierra Noble's Possibility. She kept wondering what would go down that night. Just then the doorbell rang, and Maria stopped dead in her tracks and slowly walked over to the door. The doorbell rang again and Maria finally opened the door. Drew smiled and said nothing but "Hey Maria". Maria said 'Hi' and stared down at Drew's t-shirt. "You like All Time Low?" Maria asked smiling. "Yeah, and I see you like Linkin Park" Drew said also smiling. "Yeah" Maria said and nodded. An awkward silence crept over them and they both sensed it. They walked out and headed for Polo Park Mall.

*2 hours into the date*

Drew laughed at Maria as he wiped away the ice cream on Maria's bottom lip. Maria giggled and took a small scoop of ice cream and flicked it at Drew and it landed on the bottom of his chin. They laughed hysterically as Drew tried to lick his chin with is tongue but gave up and used a napkin. They had learned a lot about each other. They didn't have many things in common but they somehow just clicked. "I honestly had so much fun tonight." Maria said still giggling. Drew chuckled "I'm glad you had fun too." The giggling and chuckling faded and once again the awkward silence crept over them. Drew and Maria stared intensely into each others' eyes. The couple behind the counter that worked at the ice cream shop were spying on them. "Just kiss already!" they shouted in unison. Drew and Maria leaned in and pressed their lips against each others. Their lips fit perfectly together like a pair of jeans that were made just for you. They eventually had to pull away for air. Maria and Drew smiled like they knew something that others didn't. Drew took a $10 bill out of his pocket and left it on the table. Maria grabbed Drew's hand and they ran out of Screamer's Ice Cream shop. Drew and Maria took off in the dimly lit streets towards Grant's Grove Park.

*At Grant's Grove Park*

Drew looked kind of confused "What are we doing here?" "There's been something I've wanted to do all night!" Maria took Drew's hand again and ran toward the Splash Pad and stood right in the middle of it. "What's this?" Drew asked impatiently. Maria grinned "You'll see in 5,4,3,2...1!" Water shot up from the splash pad and rained down on them. Maria and Drew ran from right to left to right with water shooting up and chasing them. They ran this way and that way soaked from head to toe. They laughed and danced under the rain of the Splash Pad. Finally the water hit the ground with a thud. Drew and Maria were panting like dogs after a long run. They sat down on a nearby bench and rested for a while. Maria sighed. "What's wrong?" Drew asked. "Nothing, I was just thinking is it possible that tonight was real or am I dreaming?" "The world is filled with endless possibilities but tonight just happened to be real." Drew said looking over at Maria. Maria smiled "Is there a possibility that we can do this again sometime?" "I think so, say this Saturday at around 7:00pm?" Drew winked. Maria giggled "Sounds great." Drew stood up and held out his hand. Maria took it and intertwined fingers with Drew. They walked hand in hand back to Maria's house. ... They stood on Maria's doorstep and kissed one last time. Drew left with his head held high and a grin on his face. Maria smiled and leaned against the door. That night was real and there were more possibilities to come!
