Dalton's POV
I knocked on Alyssa's front door and waited for her to answer so our movie night could start.
The door swung open a minute later and my sister's smiling face showed up. "Hi."
"Hey. How are you?"
"Good. Ready for our movie night?" I nodded and she moved so I could walk in.
"What are we going to watch?" I asked as I plopped down on her couch.
"I was thinking Paul Blart: Mall Cop." She walked into the kitchen to get popcorn.
"Sure." I stood up and went to help her. She grabbed two bags of popcorn out of the cabinet, handing one to me. We both opened a package and she shoved one in the microwave, pressing the correct time. I opened a cabinet out of her reach and pulled out two bowls while she pulled some butter out of the fridge.
She turned to see me holding the two bowls and smiled slightly. "It is sad that you know where to find everything in my house."
I shrugged. "I'm your brother and I'm over here enough that I picked up on a few things." The microwave beeped and Alyssa replaced the fully popped bag of popcorn with the other bag, once again putting in the correct time. I opened the full bag and dumped it into one of the bowls.
Alyssa started humming quietly as she got out two cups, filling them with water.
"What are you humming?" I asked, curiously.
She turned to me. "It's a Shawn Mendes song."
"That explains why I don't know it."
She chuckled as the microwave beeped again. She pulled out the bag and placed it on the counter for me to open and pour into the other bowl. She stuck the butter, which she had put in a small bowl, in the microwave to melt it.
"Have you had any more pulls to the trident?" She asked out of the blue.
"No, why are you asking?"
She shrugged. "Just wondering. I mean, I haven't had any visions, so I assumed you hadn't done anything stupid. I just wanted to make sure." She wasn't looking at me, but I could tell she was really worried.
"Hey, look at me." She obeyed and we made eye contact. "I'm fine. No pull, no nothing. It's just normal me, your brother. Everything's fine." I wrapped my arms around her in an attempt to comfort her. I knew that she was feeling a little better when she wrapped her arms around me.
"I know. I'm just worried. I don't want something to happen. Last full moon was scary and I don't want something like that happening again."
"I know and it won't."
"You don't know that."
"It won't happen until the next full moon and that's weeks away. Let's just find a way to stop it before then, but tonight is about spending time together. Just being together and having fun, okay?"
She nodded against my chest before pulling back.
"So we're good?"
"Yeah. We're good." She got the butter out of the microwave and poured it evenly over the two bowls of popcorn. I grabbed a bowl of popcorn and cup of water before going to sit back on the couch. Alyssa followed, setting her bowl and cup down before putting the movie in. She grabbed a blanket and sat beside me with the remote, her popcorn, and her water. She tucked the blanket under her chin after playing the movie.
"Comfy?" I raised an eyebrow, holding in a laugh.
She playfully glared at me before turning back to the movie.
