Caught in the eclispe

Chapter 1

"Saph! Come on! We need your help trying to sort out this argument!" My best friend Mira breaks me from my trance as she runs up to me. I stare at her with questioning eyes as she drags me over to our lunch table. "Jack says chunky peanut butter is better but I-"

Her voice fades away as I stare back at the new kid who wont stop staring at me. He looks strangely familiar in the face like I know him but not him; Know what I mean? Maybe I know a sibling he has or something? I just cant put my finger on it.

"Sapphire! Are you even listening to me?!" She follows my eyes to the new student and her eyes grow wide. "Where did he move from?" She asks completely forgetting about her previous argument.

"I don't know but I'm about to go over there and demand why he keeps challenging me. " I say blankly to her while still glaring at him. Sure he is hot, like really hot but I wanna know what the fuck his deal is. He hasn't stopped looking at me since lunch began. I'm sure some bystanders noticed our little stare off cause they started whispering to each other. Suddenly the whole cafeteria grew quiet. I knew he was a wolf as well but his scent was just.. off.

"Saph.. Come on.. people are staring we need to get you out of here.." Mira said quietly then nodded at Jack and handed me my sunglasses. I put them on and started to walk out with Mira while Jack threw away our trays.

The new kid just smirks at me as we walk out. I growl at him and Mira's grip on my arm tightens as she practically drags me out of there. Dang this girl is strong.

Jack catches up quickly and we walk out of the school.

"What is his deal!" I practically scream.

Jack just shrugs. "I heard his name was Damien Black or something like that."

I freeze. Mira shares a knowing look and we quickly say our bye's to Jack and hurry off to my car. As soon as the doors are shut we take off to our house.

We run inside and hurry upstairs to my bedroom shutting my door and blinds.

"That explains why he was challenging you Saph!" Mira speaks both of our minds. "He was trying to get you to expose yourself in front of the humans! Is he Alpha of his pack yet?" I just blankly nod and take off my sunglasses.

"Have they changed back yet?" I ask her.

"Yeah don't worry but that was a close one. Why would he enroll at our school? Is he trying to expose us to the humans? How did he even find out about us? More importantly you?"

She keeps rambling on until I finally yell at her to shut up. "I'm trying to think Mira. Damn." She zips her lips and sits down on my bed watching me pace the room. How could he find us anyway I completely changed my look including my name. I subconsciously look at my growing brown roots blended in with my red dye with black streaks. I need to do a touch up on my hair for real. He doesn't even know me. Only his father, the hunters, and Mira know about me. His father was sworn to secrecy. I guess to him his son doesn't count. I got kicked out of the pack at the age of 5- The first time I used my powers. My mother was sentenced to death after that because she did not tell the pack about the day I was born. The only thing I knew about my father was that he was an alpha of a different pack that got over ran shortly after my mother got pregnant. He was killed during the battle.

I was born on the day of an eclipse. According to the werewolf laws if a baby is to be born on an eclipse they must die before the age of three. Because after that point their powers can be accessed. But not all start using them at that age.

My mother claimed I was born a week after the eclipse and I was safe. Until I turned five and almost burned down the pack house when I had a temper tantrum over there not being anymore pancakes left for me. They made me a rouge and killed my mother.

I was a five year old werewolf who couldn't shift and lost in the big world. Two days later it was probably around midnight when little five year old starving me accidentally wondered onto another packs land. They took me in and let me live there until I turned 15 and was able to shift. The hunters had finally found me there. I kept my secret hidden until that day when the hunters targeted the family that took me in. Long story short I burned the hunters alive and took off. I couldn't risk the ones I loved getting hurt because of me so I became a rouge. I didn't stay in one place for more than a week. Until one day I met Mira. At first, I admit, it started really rough and we almost killed each other. I guess that's what bonded us.

One night I had sent Mira to get fire wood that way I could use my powers to start the fire without her seeing. I had used this excuse before. I waited until she left and then I did it. But that night she came back because she forgot to ask me a question which I cant even recall what it was. It was something stupid and because of it she saw me using my powers. She was torn between being terrified or feeling betrayed. I had to tell her everything.

Soon after we decided that we could just live with the humans and be normal teenagers. But I argued that if the hunters found us it would be so easy cause they knew what I looked like. She came up with the idea to give me a makeover and a new identity. After that I was then a red head named sapphire. (Picture at the top! :) )

Me and Mira are roommates and share a car. We both go to Jefferson high school. We thought that we were hidden from everyone until now.

Damian Black is now at my school. He is the Alpha of Red moon pack. The pack me and my mother lived in.

Mira broke me out of my flashback. "Hey Saph I'm going to go meet some friends for dinner. Wanna come?"

I politely declined her offer and decided I would just stay home.

After hearing the car pull out of the drive way I picked up a book and laid down on my belly facing my pillows. I got lost in the book until-
