Agent Marcus POV
"Daddy! Daddy! Get up it's my birthday you promised for us to go to the mall!" I woke up to see my excited little daughter's face. Her hazel eyes and chestnut messy curls surrounding her rosy cheeks. It was her 5th birthday and I was taking her to the mall.
"Kay get ready, I'll be up and ready in a few minutes" she ran out my room towards the main bathroom, while I walked got my clothes ready to go after her. I passed by the nightstand to see the picture of her, Miranda, "You would be so proud of our little girl today, she's turning five" I gave my hazel eyes and dark haired wife a sad smile, Chloe took her looks after me except her eyes.
-timeskip-
"So where are we gonna go today" I looked at Chloe, who was leading the way with me right behind her. "I wanna see the new doll store, Stacey had one and it was so pretty.....can I have one daddy?" I paused for a moment, Chloe must have noticed it because she called my name and repeated her question. I smiled and said sure. Stacey Whitford, the little four year old that went missing a two months earlier, Chloe didn't know much about it but that Stacey was absent for a while.
I snapped out of my thoughts when Chloe shouted gleefully, "We're here!" I looked at the store that we were standing in front of. One word, PINK, the whole place was pink I couldn't handle it, but for Chloe I stepped inside. I noticed there was a wall with a lot of names written on it, Cute. There were shelves filled with dolls that were different from the others. Not one looked the same.
"Daddy can I have this one?" Chloe was pointing at one doll a few steps ahead of me. I walked towards her, "sur-" my sentence was caught when I saw the doll, it looked a lot a bit like her, green eyes and dark hair. I must've been just uncomfortable with it, probably because I'm not the kind of doll dad.
"Would you like to write your name on the wall, it's our store's own mini tradition" the cashier smiled. "Can I daddy?" Chloe looked at me desperately. "Yeah, that's okay stay next to the chalk board after so I can take a picture" Chloe ran towards the chalkboard and wrote her name. I was taking out my Polaroid to take a picture. When I had it ready I saw Chloe pausing for a moment then moving to the side for me to take the picture.
"CHEESE!" Chloe gave me a big smile. FLASH. The film came out revealing the picture, beautiful, I opened my wallet to place it there, perfect. "Chloe lets go home" she smiled at me and nodded okay.
-timeskip to two days later-
Beep Beep Beep! I answered my phone, "Agent Marcus" a deep voice answered, "Gerald why are you calling me at three in the morning" "remember the case of Stacey Whitford, we connected it to other cases in the past, and also three more girls that went missing too." It was too early in the morning for me to process these things, he must've noticed because the next thing he said was that I will be assigned to this case.
"Okay yeah fine" I hanged up ready to go back to bed when I decided to go to the bathroom. I walked out of my room and into the hallway when I noticed Chloe's door open. I also noticed her night light wasn't even on. "Chloe..." I whispered a bit. I ran to the room and turned the light on no, she's not here. I ran into the living room, bathroom, kitchen, my room even outside, but she was no where. Chloe was missing.
