Supplemental Note: The following is a note left by Fredrick Callahan to his wife, Elise. It was obtained when local authorities found young Elise sobbing over a book that was later found to be Callahan's journal.

My dear, I know know you have a lot of questions about my past, and now, I am unable to answer them for you. But I believe this will suffice. This journal contains all you need to know about me and my past. And one more thing.
I am truly sorry, but despite what you may think, I do not deserve someone as lovely and innocent as you, nor the life you offer me. Go find someone who will make you happy. Someone worthy of you.
Forever yours,
Fredrick

Supplemental Note: The following are important extracts from the journal uncovered alongside the note above. Elise Callahan was notably resilient in giving the journal to the authorities, so a bandit was hired to retrieve them by force, in exchange for money and prostitutes.
