♡Clary♡

I was sitting on what was now my bed after staying here for a week. I was reading a book beside the lamp on the nightstand when there was a knock on my door jam. I looked up and saw who I had come to known as The Bloody Painter, but to me he's just Otis. Who happens to be a serial killer just like his friends. "Hey, hope I'm not bothering you."

I shook my head and closed my book before setting it on the nightstand. I smiled at him and patted a spot on my bed. "Come sit!" He walked in with a small smile and sat down beside me. "You got a second to talk with me?"

"Well I wouldn't put my book down for just anyone." I laughed and for moment he did to but then his face got serious. "Otis, what is it?"

"Do you like it here with m- us?"

"Of course I do you guys are like my family now, how could I not like it here?"

"Do you want to stay here? Permanently?" I stared at him letting what he was asking sink in. "Are you kidding me?" For a minute he looked almost sad and I rushed to finish.

"Of course I want to stay with you guys." Otis smiled widely and suddenly enveloped me in a hug. I was used to him touching me but he never hugged me. But he was so warm so I returned his hug. "Um, Otis I can't breath."

He suddenly let go of me and I took in big gulps of air. "I'm sorry, Clary." He said while rubbing my back gently. "It's okay, Otis."

"I'm just glad to hear that you'll be staying with us."

He smiled but his shoulders where tense. "Is there something else you want to tell me?" Otis sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Danny called again. I think you should tell him your moving out."

I sat back down on my bed. The man who raised me for the last eight years is the  most important person in my life. I had called him a week ago saying I was staying at a friends house. But then I told him that I hurt myself while hanging out with them in the woods and that I had to stay for another week to get better. Now I  have to tell him I'm moving out.

"I'll do it later, can I be alone for a minute?" I asked him and he nodded slowly then left closing the door behind him. I laid down on the bed feeling hot, and I felt like I was suffocating. I hurriedly opened the window letting in the spring breeze. Even though I was wearing a camisole and black shorts I was still unbearably hot.

I walked down the stairs feeling bad for Clary having to lose the last person who really matters to her. I walked into the living room and saw Ben and Siren on the couch watching a movie. Ben had his arm wrapped around Siren and she was leaning into him. "Hey guys." I greeted them and they smiled back at me.

"You talk to Clary?" Ben asked me and I solemnly nodded. Ben's face looked grim as he waited for me to continue.  "She wants to stay with us but it means she'll have to leave her guardian."

"Poor, Clary." Siren said and I nodded to her. "I'm going out. See you later Ben, Siren." They said goodbye then turned their attention back on the TV. I left the house and closed the door behind me.

I walked on the path through the woods. Felt the wind tug at my short hair. "Glad to see spring is finally here." I murmured to myself. I took a step forward and all of a sudden I got hit in the back of the head, the last thing I saw was the sharp gleam of a knife.

"Wakey, wakey, Painty." I felt someone nudge me and I groaned when I felt a throbbing pain in the back of my skull. I opened my eyes and saw a girl with black hair, eyes, and a grey dress. "Jane, I should have known it was you. What hell is wrong with you?!"
