Since we last talked, me and LaMelo have finally resolved the formal incident. He's going to the game and I'll be going to the dance. He was the one who came up with the idea and I hesitantly agreed to it, just because I've always been at LaMelo's games and it feels weird that I won't be there.

At the moment, I was walking to the Ball household. It was a five minute walk and most of the time, I took this walk once a day. Usually, on Sundays,  I went to LaMelo's house, we read, and we listened to a new song. LaMelo hates reading but he does it for me which I love him for. The music we listen to is very slow and happy and each time we do this tradition one person picks the music, so it's just not one person always choosing.

Today, it was my turn. I had picked "You Give Me Something" by James Morrison. Slow, relaxing vibes were the wave on a boring Sunday. I walked up to the Ball residence, a modern, white house with 3 cars out front and flowers sprouting up in the bushes that were adjacent to the humongous black door. I knocked, waiting for Melo to open. And low and behold, which felt like 30 years later, he opened.

"Hey, bitchass took you long enough." I chuckled as I walked right past him up to his room. It was a normal, teenage boy room but a lot more UCLA and 2K posters on the wall. All of his shoes were neatly paired on a rack on his wall and his bed by the window. I could hear him shuffle up the steps and find me laying on his bed.

"So, what's the book to day love bug?" he questioned as he moved my feet allowing space for him to sit.

"Well, i was thinking we could have a poetry day, a Milk and Honey day." I replied holding up the matte, black book.

"Nice, what's the songs?"

"I can't stay long today, homework. So we'll only read a few entries and listen to the song over and over because I love it so much."

I did have some work to do and couldn't stay long, but that doesn't mean that I would skip out on book day.

"Ok, let's get started." he said as he stretched out and laid down looking at me intensely.

And so I started...

1 hour later

By now, I had my feet resting on LaMelo's legs as I had my head on his pillows. He was still in his position as before but a little more turned towards me. I had just finished the last poem I was going to read for the day and started to get up to collect my stuff.

"Kyla, I have a question."

"Wassup?" I asked as I was slinging the coat I had brought over on my shoulders, not really paying attention.

"Coach just told me we have a game this Friday, the game had been postponed from before and they chose that day. I know you can't go to the big game two weeks from now but do you think you can come to this one...wearing my jersey?"

This time he was anxious for my answer. I could tell because he was scratching the back of his neck looking at the ground . All of this information was being thrown at me and I had to take time to comprehend it. After about 40 seconds, I replied.

"Yea, I mean, I'll go and wear your jersey. I don't feel like going to formal anymore so I'll do both."

"You sure, I wanna make sure you get to enjoy yourself."

"Yea, I'm fine with it" I said, adamant about my decision. I really didn't feel like getting a dress and getting glamed up.

"Ok, thanks babe." he smiled as he turned away, gathering my things also.

Babe? I like it.

"I've gotta go now, we'll all later okay?"

"Ok, see ya!" he yelled as I ran down the stairs and out of the house.

I slowly strolled back to my house, noticing the things I've never paid attention to before. There was an abundance of palm trees lining the road and the sky was bright blue. Birds chirped and the sun's great rays lit the world around me.

Today was a good day but tomorrow is back to hell which is disguised by what most people call school.

Just a filler. Hopefully next chapter will fulfill your reader needs lol.
