CHAP 1 ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

Chap 1: Moving streets

"Mai come down here!! We gotta go now, or we'll be late" my close friend Sana yelled, knocking harshly on my bedroom door.

I snap out of my deep sleep and my eyes open quickly in shock, "No way.. No way!! NO WAY!!" The damn alarm clock wasn't working, I set it on 8:00pm, instead of AM, ughh.

I jump off my bed and sprint towards my closet looking for the most comfiest set of clothes I could find- a sweater and sweatpants. I put it on and race down the stairs after going to the washroom and doing my things.

"Ugh, Mai there you are. Let's go!" My friend Sana held me by the wrist and dragged me to the car. I got in and was too tired from lack of sleep to process what was happening.

I then snap out of my thoughts and started panicking. "Hey, WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE!!" I yell, facing her as she smirked while driving.

"Calm down, Mai, I'm just bringing you to that address you found a week ago." I sit down in relief and look out the window, putting an elbow to help keep myself comfortable and I slowly drift asleep.

-a dream-
"MAIII!! RUN, HOLD THIS PAPER AND RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN" mom yelled, tears fiercely running down her cheeks as she was forcing the small piece of paper between my fingers.

My eyes followed her small figure getting dragged into the shadows. "GO MAI! OR I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!" dad yelled as blood started bursting out of his right arm. I tear up and grab the paper, running as fast as I can.

Something was lurking into the shadows but I had to run, and respect my parents wishes. Their screams slowly disappear and fade from each step I take. Tears were pinned onto my face and I start to panic a bit. I look into the paper and it showed an address. I shoved it in my pocket and kept running to escape.
I was so scared and I fell tired. I haven't told anyone but Sana about that day..

"MAI!!! MAI"" WAKE UP!!" Sana says, shaking me as I open my eyes. "Sorry I was having that bad dream again. It was about my parents. It's been a week from the incident and I still miss them."

I look down as Sana gives me a hug. "Hey, it's alright okay. I'm here for you... and if you need me" Sana then stops the car "they will be there for you too" and points me towards a huge mansion. My eyes wander at the size of the mansion and I gave Sana a smile.

"Thanks I really needed a ride here" I smiled at her while she just heads back to her car. "No problemo, just call me if you need anything" she giggles and drives back.

I take out the address from my pocket and check to see if it's right. "Mhmm" I knocked at the mansion and saw a young lady with black hair which complimented her pale youthful skin, and a big smile, opening the door.

"Hii!! Who are you? Oh wait! You must be the laundry lady come in" she had a high pitched voice and sounded really excited.

Next thing I knew, I was being dragged in the house and pushed onto the couch. "Wait ma'am!! You got the wrong person here!" I protest as she looks at me with a surprised expression.

"Umm.. Who are ya?" She says rubbing the back of her nape, and smiling nervously. "Well I am here for-"

"hello there" I get interrupted by a middle aged man, who looked to be in his late 40's. He causally approached me and looked at the paper in my hand.

I eyed him for a second, while he took the paper from my hand. "Mai right?" I nodded quickly and all of a sudden he jumped up and hugged me sobbing loudly into my precious, oh so precious ears.

"OH WELCOME TO MY HOUSE, I WILL HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING OKAY?! IF YOU NEED ME JUST CALL ME AND ILL BE THERE! Call me Mr.Ra from now on" he yells loudly and i couldn't breathe into the hug.

I just nodded and smiled for everything he said. " ya know, I was really good friends with your parents. I'm sorry about what happened recently. But I promise to take care of you as my own daughter and you can stay here from now on." He says smiling.

I widened my eyes to process everything he said. So many things, in such little words. I nodded my head slowly, but I was a bit confused. "Show her to her new room" Mr.Ra said.

The maid escorted me, and I followed along. As we got there, I looked around to see a huge beautiful room. It even had a walk in closet and bathroom. The maid left to let me have some time alone, and I was looking around my room and unpacked my things.

After I was done, I layed down and relaxed, slowly falling asleep after my long tiring day today...
