'This guy looks like someone who would never talk to me'
Despite the long and boring summer vacation, I was honestly not ready for school. It was the first day of school and as always, I was one of the first to be here considering I had a zero period, meaning it's a class that starts at 7 am, which was ASB*(Associated Student Body). Being fortunate though, I got to find out where my 1st period would be. The thought of people crowding around one wall trying to find where their first class sent shivers down my spine.
Thoughts ran through my head as I waited for my zero period teacher to open her door. However, prior experience in freshmen year, she was always late. A gasps interrupted my thoughts and I looked up seeing one of my junior, now senior classmates walking towards me. Smiling awkwardly I waved and was about to say good morning. She looked surprised as she stood directly in front of me.
"I THOUGHT YOU WERE TRANSFERRING TO A DIFFERENT SCHOOL!" she yelled.
Ah yes, I wasn't supposed to be in this school due to living far away from the campus. However, I begged my parents to let me stay in this school. It would have been a difficult task finding and making new friends in a new school. In this school, I had friends I was comfortable with.
"I honestly begged to stay in this school" I replied grinning. "GOOD!" She yelled.
"Oh, also...GOOD MORNING KARINA~!" I said making a peace sign. She looked at me and shook her head "Good morning Lucy".
We chatted for a few minutes, eventually more students in ASB came, each saying the similar things Karina told me. I explained the story over and over again, but I continued to smile, feeling relief that everything was going great so far.
After what seemed like forever, our teacher came in and those who were the early birds, counting me, in the class all walked over to the room.
Our teacher, Ms. Buen greeted all of us, but she stopped me and smiled "Glad to have you here again". Giving a shy smile, I replied "Im glad to be back".
As I sat down at a random desk I watched more people enter the classroom. All of them were either happy seeing old classmates or plain dead from being back to school. There was no in between. Once everyone was seated the meeting began.
So far, the classes i've had were ok, each class we reviewed expectations, rules etc etc. Honestly, I was about to drop dead and go crazy if I heard similar things all over again. However, it was now time for 4th period, I was definitely excited for this class.
I hated P.E with a passion, so I switched to P.E Aquatics, a class that teaches you how to swim, which meant no running. The teacher was extremely nice and very peppy. Not to mention I had a few friends in this class.
We sat in a circle on the side of the deck, near the pool. Today, instead of going over the expectations we went around introducing ourselves. I was nervous, I don't look like it but I really am shy and get nervous easily.
When it was my turn I gave a small smile "My names Lucy, I play piano, and some of my friends call me Lu" giving a thumbs up I was extremely relieved that it was over.
Everyone continued and eventually we stopped at a guy, I honestly didn't know him. But he looked like someone who knew a lot of people, and only stuck with the 'cool' people.
His name was Jim, he was tall with his messy gelled hair but I thought it suited him. When he finished he accidentally cursed, but the thing is, he whispered it. The teacher still heard him despite him being somewhat quiet and far away.
It was honestly funny considering once the coach heard him she literally called him out and told him to do 25 pushups. His friends laughed at him, and when he was 7 away from finishing he cursed again adding 25 more pushups. Shocked he said another one and that earned him 25 more.
If my math was correct he had to 57 pushups to do. Shaking my head we all watched him do the pushups, eventually he finished and we continued the introductions. This class was by far the most entertaining.
Once introductions were over we all stood up and got to know our new classmates more. I didn't want to tall to people, considering i'm awkward, so i stayed with my group if friends.
One of my friends, Maria was walking over towards us, one girl and what the whole class now calls him, Mr.Potty Mouth followed her.
I grinned and waved "Mariaaa~" I said extending the 'a'. "Luuuu~" she said happily also extending the 'u' in my nickname. The people behind her waved.
Instantly I got shy hiding behind my 'twin' Jewel. She shook her head at me and looked at the 2 new people in the group.
"Sup" Jewel said, the girl looked at her and nodded saying "Hi, my names Bertha". Mr. Potty Mouth grinned and introduced himself "Jim's the name".
He looked over to me and grinned wider, "My name Lucy" I said quietly. Tilting his head he looked at me, I blushed a bit.
"Are you a freshman?" He asked innocently.
There was dead silence, and all my friend's laughed at me while he stood there confused.
I was always mistaken as someone younger because of my childlike features and height, in short I was very offended.
Ignoring his question the bell finally rang signalling us that it was lunch. We all left but as we walled away from the pool I could feel his gaze on me.
