It was a stormy, rainy day, and Aaron Burr slid on his shoes, getting ready to go to the market. It was terrible weather to go outside, but Aaron had a sudden craving for coconut and would stop at nothing to get it. Yes, he eats plain coconuts. He put on his coat and grabbed his trusty umbrella, taking a moment to admire its beauty, with its red, silky fabric and it's long, silver handle. He could have sworn it was redder than usual just then. He loved that umbrella ever since first day he bought it, and refused to use any other umbrella than that one. He opened it up and walked outside, shivering from the cold.

He walked to the market, but suddenly, a huge gust of wind blew his umbrella away! He ran through the streets of New York to try to catch his umbrella. He didn't care what people thought, or that he was at a market and could buy a new one right there, he couldn't lose it. He ran and he ran, but the wind was too strong. He finally stopped to catch his breath as he lost sight of his umbrella in the crowd. But he wasn't giving up. He dashed around the crowd, looking desperately for it. After twenty minutes of looking for his umbrella, Aaron sighed and sat on a bench, soaking wet and freezing cold.

He started thinking about all the nice memories they had together. He thought about their ups, theirs downs,  how he would never use any other umbrella but that one, how the umbrella would never let a single raindrop touch him, how beautiful it looked covered in raindrops. Then he realized. He loved that umbrella. More than just an umbrella. He couldn't bear to be without it.

Suddenly, Aaron's umbrella came out of nowhere and hit him in the face. Before it could get away again, he grabbed it and let a single tear escape his eye.

"Umbrella! I thought I was going to lose you!" He said, filled with relief. "I'm so sorry... I love you."

"A-Aaron Senpai, I love you too." Said his umbrella, redder than ever.

Aaron leaned in and kissed it, not questioning why his umbrella was talking to him. The rain stopped and the sun finally shone through the clouds. It was perfect. He walked home, umbrella  in hand, with a huge smile on his face. He felt like the happiest man in the world, and he completely forgot about the coconut he wanted. It didn't matter anymore.

He would be craving something else that night.
