Vartin Academy

Chapter:1

Boyd chewed on a piece of gum as he pulled a suitcase along a busy sidewalk. Boyd was an African American boy with brown eyes and white hair due to a condition he was born with. He was wearing sweatpants along with a black jacket with a white shirt underneath. Around his neck he had a necklace with wolf fangs on the strings.He walked a couple of blocks until he reached his destination it was an apartment building. Not one of the good ones it was rundown and the interior was full of mysterious stains everywhere. Boyd walked up several flights of stairs and then walked down a hallway until he found the address '467'.He could hear loud music coming from the door and he knocked wondering if they would even hear him. The door opened revealing a woman in a morning robe "Heya kiddo." She said to Boyd as he walked into the abode. Boyd looked back at her "Hi Mrs.phayi." he said. Then Mrs.Phayi began to grow black fur all over her body and a snout grew outwards from her face. Her eyes turned black as well with a glowing red ring in the middle.Boyd looked into the room and was happy to see two of his friends sitting on the couch in front of the TV. One of them named Volx looked like his mother except for the white fur and nine tails. The one next to him Jose was wearing a blue shirt with jeans. His face resembled that of a lizard's, his skin was blue and scaly with spines running down his back. Along with two small wings and huge red and black eyes.Boyd looked around at the rest of the apartment and saw lots of people who looked like Jose. He sat down on the couch and started talking to his friends "Hey guys it's been a while." He said "Indeed it has," Volx replied back to his friend with his leg bouncing up and down. Jose waved to Boyd and handed him a cup full of a red liquid. " want some?" Jose said to Boyd. Boyd sniffed the cup and backed away "No thanks." he said.Boyd watched as Jose chugged the liquid and gagged "How do you stand that." Jose paused as he was trying to down the last of his drink. " What It's just goat blood," Jose said as he snickered. "You chupacabras and your goat blood," Boyd said.A couple of hours passed by and Ms.phayi walked into the room and handed Volx and Boyd a piece of paper"Here is both of yours acceptance letters." She said.Boyd looked down at the paper. "Your mother would have been proud," Ms.phayi said. Boyd smiled Jose gave Boyd a small role of paper "want one?" He asked his friend "Not after what we've been through, bro," Boyd saidJose looked somber for a couple seconds "we won its over now." Jose said,He continued to speak "I know it won't bring them back but we have to move on." Jose put his hand on Boyd's shoulder"At the academy don't let.." Jose paused as he saw a tear run down Boyd's cheek "Don't let the past get in the way of your future." Jose smiled and Boyd wiped the tears from his cheek. Ms.phayi walked into the room "Alright you all should get some sleep,*yawn* am off to get some myself." She said before she kissed Volx on his forehead and made her way to her bedroom.Everyone there did the same except for some leaving the apartment building. Boyd turned off all the lights and said good night to Volx. Boyd at that moment transformed into a wolf and made himself comfortable on the couch. Boyd always liked sleeping in wolf form he closed his eyes and slept.
