Venice Dean
Lloyd's computer said with a flickering line behind it. He said on the edge of his kitchen chair. It was dark outside and both he and Celeste didn't know what time it. The smell of unwashed bodies bothered Celeste, but naturally she was too kind to point out.
"Have you found anything?" She asked crawling up behind him. He didn't respond but the concentrated look on his face made Celeste recoil. The old computer on his lap burned and it made a funny buzzing noise reminding her of her childhood. The old computer in the attic she and Venice used to play funny games on. They groaned everytime it buffered in the middle of a Miley Cyrus song. When laughing and tumbling in their pyjama pants was still a thing and when twelve am was still late. Her hair still matched her eyes back then. Perfect brown. She was there when Venice preformed for the first time, when she got her first job, her first bra and her first boyfriend. Something told her it was wrong to still talk to Lyon. She wasn't there when he broke her heart and that haunted her. But she wanted to know how she was doing.
"No." Lloyd moved for a bit until he found a site that linked to a blog about a preformance from two years ago. She had a sweet expression wearing a 'joy devision' shirt. Her eyes spoke for the girl. She was happy. The teens sighed.
"Wait, let me search something." She asked getting a hold of the mouse.
"I got it." He pushed her away.
"Lloyd!" She yelled at him but suddenly they noticed that they opened a site. Lloyd groaned.
"NO, don't click away!" They frose.
"What?" Celeste moved the laptop to her side and took over it. Her eyes burned of curiosity.
"That's her!"
Teenagers score 100% on enterance exam for Japanese Univerity.
Lloyd and Celeste stared at the screen in shock. The side was just a blog with alot of enthousiatic lines and photo's but mostly discribtions of the students. A vague picture of Venice caught her eye.
We weren't allowed to take pictures for some reason so I had to be careful. On the left is the -so to say- best student of Japan until the enterance exams, Light Yagami.
"Light Yagami? What kind of faggot name is that?"
"LLOYD!!" Celeste yelled.
"Woah, sorry." He chuckled.
In the middle stood the last minute student from London, Britain. Siena Wood, the student who had to study with blank books with probably help of Yagami since the two have seen to be close together.
"Siena Wood.."
"She got herself a fake name? Why didn't she tell us?" Celeste whimpered.
"She got neglected by her boyfriend the last minute she spent in London. What do you think?"
"I'm not Lyon. And he didn't hurt her! Do you really believe that?" Celeste pointed out.
"Celeste...." He sighed and covered his eyes. "You are fucking naive." The cool air stung her arms. It was a while since she cried out of anger but that remark made her want to kick Lloyd. He turned his gaze to the girl and noticed her pale cheeks.
"Ow, babe-"
"Don't fucking call me that." The walls came closer to the pair and not only because Ben didn't know she was with him.
"I'm not going to cry over Venice because she is clearly doing fine. I give up. If you want to go look for her, fine. Lyon's right, she didn't had to leave London-"
"You do know why she left London, right? Do you even know why Lyon dumped that chick? Sweetheart, you don't know the halve of it."
"Elliot is dead and that fucking doesn't come without side effects. Let her be. She needs some air-" Celeste was interrupted by a noise coming from his computer. He turned around and was surprised.
"What the hell?" A screen saver appeared on the screen with a message saying the page was removed.
"CIA?"
"What does America have to do with Japan? This page is only a day old.." The teen's became quiet for a moment.
"Look, I'm goin to Ben.. Maybe he knows something about that.. It's getting late."
"I'll give you a ride.."

Venice didn't sleep that night. She read a book she bought that day, not bothering to wonder why it wasn't in Japanese. She sat up all night with her legs pulled to her chest and she was drained from energy. Her body started to smell making her wonder if she smelled like sigarets. She jumped when the phone on the night stand rang.
"Hello?" Her voice cracked.
"Good morning, the reception wanted to thank you for visiting our hotel so we have a little surprise for you. When will you come pick it up, please?" A sweet optimistic voice asked.
"Ow, I'll be there in a minute.." She replied.
"Perfect! I'll ask you to bring your key card for precaustion. See you at the reception, miss Dean." Venice jumped when she heard her last name. She had little motivation to get out of bed but her curiosity kicked her so she gassed herself with deodorant and brushed her teeth. She fast walked through the hotel, trying to ignore people's looks so she felt wierd when the man with the sweet voice looked quite handsome too. She showed her key card and he threw her a loving smile. She saw that this man enjoyed his job and that made her heart light up.
"Good morning, Miss Wood."
"Eh- Good morning.." She looked at his name tag and was confussed.
"Esteban? Are you spanish?" She asked. He chuckled and shook his head.
"No, my parents love to travel the world. My sister's name is Abrial." He laughed.
"That's a lovely name. Too bad it's dangerous to share it no aday.." I muttered loud enough for him to understand. He nodded.
"You are right, but if you think about it there is too much trouble in the world to keep up with every one of them. I mean, my boss thought about getting rid of all name tags in general. But if he did that I wouldn't have had a chance to start a convo with a lovely girl." He smiled. "It's a strange luck."
I felt as if my breath gave up on me.
"Is that my surprise?" I asked.
"No, of course not." He pulled up a basket with fruit, a bottle of Japanese wine a thank you card and some folders with giftcards and holyday destinations in Japan.
"There you go." He smiled.
"Is this for me?"
"Unless you share a room with someone."
She sighed "Thank you, Esteban."
"Only doing my job." She was just about to walk back to my book until Esteban stopped me.
"What do I call you?" She stopped and gave the twenty year old a glare. The guy's wide shoulders in uniform and brown hair didn't distract the blond even when he reminded her of a character from the book she read all night.
"What did you call me this morning through the phone?"
"Miss Wood. Is there a problem, Madam?" In shock she stared at him while she knew he was only doing his job. Venice thought of Celeste for a moment when he gave her a true worried look. She concentrated on his uniform and name tag for a moment thinking she felt weak in her knees and that made her defencive.
"Are you allowed to keep animals in the hotel?" I asked with a calmer expression.
"No." He raised a brow.
"Then stop acting like a puppy." I walked back upstairs. I threw the door a little to hard hitting the doorhandle to my arm. I groaned even harder when I noticed Esteban wrote his phone number on the 'thank you' card.
Great pleasure to serve a lovely lady. - Esteban Takinawa.
