------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The sun shone brightly in the sky, torturing me with it's unblinking stare. The sweat flowing freely over my skin as I continued to run, I didn't know where I was going just that I couldn't stop. I didn't even know why I couldn't stop it wasn't like something was chasing me or that I had to save someone like in most of my dreams, but whoever said that dreams could be understood? Although I did notice that this particular dream seemed to have a magical vibe to it. Suddenly the scenery changed I was now running...across water? Okay dreams are seriously weird, but this is kinda cool I always did wonder what it would be like running across water. The water seemed to never end but suddenly it did, turning once again into a desert, and then I woke up.

BEEP BEEP BEEP "Fuck you damn alarm" I picked up the alarm clock and threw it against the wall. Smiling happily as I stared at the alarm clock broken in pieces on the hard wood floors of my bedroom. "That's what you get for interrupting me from my dream," I say as I jump from my bed. I glance quickly out the window checking the weather for tips on what to wear. The gloomy atmosphere was definitely asking for warmer clothes so I slipped into some black skinny jeans and a dark sweater. I glanced quickly into the mirror to see that my brown hair created a messy halo around my petite face, "oh joy, now I really look like a witch." I ran quickly into the bathroom attached to my bedroom in an attempt to wet it down from the sink, this not working I decided to give up. It's not like I really care what people think of me, so after brushing my teeth and applying a small amount of make-up I go back into my bedroom and pull on my converse. I glare at the alarm clock for a moment before activating a quick fix spell and placing it back on my nightstand before grabbing my backpack and heading down stairs.

"Morning sleeping beauty!" My mothers perky voice calls from the kitchen as I head towards the front door, "off to school?"

"Yep! I gotta get there a little early so I can grab my schedule see you later!" I yell over my shoulder as I race towards by burnt orange 1990 jeep wrangler. The only true love of my life, that was always there for me even when it died and left me stranded on the side of the road. Starting the engine, which took a few moments, I pulled out of our ridiculously long driveway, making my way towards the new high school. That I was to attend for the next few months until I graduated and would be done with this stupid pretend I'm a human bullshit. Why we even needed to move so far away I have no idea, seriously we went from living in California to freaking Virginia! Ugh it's not that I hate Virginia it's just that I had friends in our last coven and I was finally starting to think that Trevor was starting to like me as much as I liked him. Which kinda sucked because then we moved, so yea another reason for why life is full of shit. Although, I totally don't blame my mom because who wouldn't want to move across the entire country when they have a stalker? Yes you heard me right a stalker, my mom is gorgeous so it's no surprise that someone would get a little freaky in their affection for her. So when things started getting really weird like finding out this creep had broken into our house and trashed it, we decided it was best to move. I was a little upset about it at first, but mostly scared about losing my mom to some freako.

Nearing the high school I realized that I was probably going to be a little in over my head with these kids. The cars already parked were shiny and new and very sporty. Me not being much of a car person I couldn't tell you what they were exactly, but it looked like they were very expensive. The kind of expensive that makes me want to just key them all and watch the faces of their owners when they saw the beautiful paint job destroyed! HAHA my evil little voice laughed, or cackled since I am a witch. I parked my car very carefully next to a little black car and getting out started walking towards the front of the school. The school was huge and gothic looking, made out of a dark brick that had ivy vines creeping up the sides. I ran up the front steps and opened the doors, walking into the office I see I nice looking young lady typing behind a computer.

"Hi my names Jasmine Seiko, I recently moved here," I say as I near the front desk.

"Oh yes Jasmine! It's so nice to meet you; here is your schedule and a map. I hope you have a nice day," the slim woman said as she handed me a few papers.

'Well she seems nice, a little too nice maybe.' I think as I get to my locker and after looking at one of the papers I decipher the code and unlock it. After placing my things inside I rush off to my first class, English, 'oh joy my favorite' I think sarcastically as I make my way into the classroom.

The day passed rather uneventfully, every class pretty much the same; a boring teacher, snobby kids, and incredibly simple lessons. So when the final bell rang announcing the end of the school day I was eager to get home and read some of the new spell books my mother had gotten from a local store. Turning into the driveway I look at the old Victorian three-story house. Its white paint practically sparkling against the overcast environment making me feel more at home than ever before. The yard still muddy because they wouldn't be planting grass until spring, which wasn't for a few more months. Parking my car I jumped out and rushed through the front door, "I'm home mom!" I yell as I walk through the front hallway making my way to the swinging doors of the kitchen. Bursting through them I slip and lose my balance falling into something wet and sticky...and red. I look at my hand as my head rests on the floor, trying my best not to go into an all out panic. 'Ok whoever lost this much blood could not have survived' I thought grimly as I sit up and looked at the large puddle of blood I'm sitting in. Standing up I notice that it slightly trailed off into the living room, fear rising up in my chest as I pushed the door open. I peered into the room and saw my mother nailed to the wall by an athame in her throat. I fell on all fours gagging until I finally threw up. 'No...' my mind can't seem to wrap around the fact that my mother is dead, and not just dead but murdered. The athame was glittering from her throat and I new that I would have to pull it out myself. A witch's soul can never rest in peace with her murderers weapon still in her body, which is the only thing that kept me from running out of the house screaming like a mad woman. I needed to pull the athame out before her soul was forever stuck on earth, so standing up I made my way towards her body. I reached up and placed my hand around the cold handle, giving a quick tug to assess how far in it was. It didn't budge which meant that I would have to yank pretty hard if I was going to get it out of the wall. Placing both hands on the handle, one on top of the other, I moved my feet into a stronger stance and pulled with all my strength, finally feeling the athame give and suddenly it came out causing me to lose my balance and fall on my ass. My mother's body fell on top of me covering me with more of her blood, giving a quick scream I jumped up watching as my mothers body fell into an awkward position. I looked at the athame still in my hand and knew right then and there that I would have revenge on whoever thought they could mess with a Seiko.
