A Friend Returns

Piper's POV

"It's been 2 months since we defeated Gaea. Leo still hasn't appeared, I'm beginning to lose hope. Tonight we have capture the flag, I usually love it, but I'm just depressed when I think of playing it without Leo. Jason's on my team at least, and Hazel, Percy, and Annabeth came to visit for the weekend. Well the dinner horn is calling, gtg. If you're reading this, I hope you get blown to smithereens by Greek fire, Love ya! -Piper"

I put my journal in my trunk, and walked outside to the cool afternoon air. As I was about to head to the dining pavilion, someone or something tackled me. I opened my eyes, and Jason, my boyfriend, was on top of me.

"Ugh, get off." I groan.

"Sorry girl, can't do that until you call uncle. Unless you can pay me in some way?" Jason wiggled his eyebrows making me laugh.

"Hmmm, what do you have in mind?" I asked, playing along.

"Oh, nothing much, just a kiss."

"let me think on that. How about.... no."

"what?"

I took his surprise as my chance. I kneed him in the gut, and rolled out from under him. I stood behind him, and when he turned around I judo flipped him. While he was laying on his back, I pinned him. 

"You ready to call uncle?" I questioned.

"Ugh, sure, you got me Pipes." I jumped off him and he stood up, pulling me into a kiss.

"I still got that kiss, though." He smirked, he little scar on his lip looked so cute.

"Whatever, lets get to the dining pavilion before we get into trouble."

Jason bolted toward the pavilion and yelled "Race ya!"

I ran after him, coming in a close second place.

"Beat ya" he smiled.

"Only because you cheated."

"whatever" and we walked to our separate tables.

Dinner was extremely boring. All the girls asked why I was late, so I just told them relationship stuff. They all oohed, teasing me. The scenario reminded of that song in Grease. The one where they all sing "tell me more, tell me more". I shuddered, I HATE that movie. When dinner was finally over, the Stoll brothers announced the teams for capture the flag.

My team included the Aphrodite cabin (obviously), the Zeus cabin, the Hades cabin, The Poseidon cabin, the Apollo cabin, and the Hermes cabin. We have less cabins because the Hermes cabin is always super packed. It's packed because all the new campers go there before they're claimed.

Ugh, people always left the Aphrodite cabin he worst armor. thank the gods for Jason though. he snuck me Talia's old armor. She wouldn't be needing it any time soon. I grabbed a sword and hung it at my belt. I sheathed my knife Katoptris as well. You might as well be prepared for anything.

We huddled up and everyone looked at me. Gods I hate public speaking, why did I tell them I had a great plan. Any way. I told Percy he should guard the river, keeping people from being able to cross. The Hermes kids would set up traps along the fields. Hazel already knew her part. She would shroud me in the mist to make me appear as Clarisse. I would then 'steal their flag' making them all chase me. After that Jason would fly in and steal their actual flag. The Apollo kids would be in the trees around our flag and their flag. So they could cover me and protect our flag at the same time. The unclaimed campers would defend the flag. Lastly Nico and Will Solace would cover Hazel while she uses the mist.

Everyone nodded, we got ourselves in place and Chiron yelled "let the game begin!" Everyone took off, I had to wait for the right moment though. Percy was doing great by sending waves to hold everyone back. Perfect. I saw the Stoll brothers signal all the traps were set. Great. Will Solace ran up behind me and whispered, "We have Clarisse all tied up." Now was my chance. All the Aphrodite kids were on offense, thank the gods I got them extra sword fighting classes.

I ran across the river, to the kids guarding the flag. No one gave me a second look. I used my charmspeak, I said " you feel left out, you want to be on offense. You wish you up there taking part in the fun." The kids all nodded, then picked up their swords and ran into mêlée. I smiled, and looked where Jason was hiding in the trees above me, I signaled him. I 'took' their flag and ran the opposite direction from the river. Someone shouted, but I didn't hear them. I stole a look back. The mist had worn off and everyone knew it was me, but the 'flag' was still in my hands. I had ran far enough. I turned, and the flag in my hands dissolved. They all stopped looking confused. I looked at them shrugged, gave them a smug look, and climbed the nearest tree.

Up in the canopy I saw Jason flying towards me. He handed me the flag, then grabbed me by the waist, and we flew back to our side. When we touched down everyone started cheering. I laughed because up in a tree Clarisse was hanging, thrashing about, trying to get free.

Everyone lifted me and Jason on to their shoulders. I thought it okay, so I kissed him, long and hard. Everyone cheered louder. Suddenly the cheering stopped, me and Jason looked up, there in the sky, was a giant metal dragon.

"Leo" me and Jason yelled at the same time. Jason grabbed me by the waist again, and we flew up to meet our old friend.
