Chapter 2
Temper, Temper
The day was a blur. Most things my old school had already covered, so it was a piece of cake. Others, like the end of year concert where the music and drama class got together to put on a performance, were too far into things for me to join in. So I just helped get props or music sheets ready or helped people with their lines. Not much point in the teachers putting too much onto me with only 6 weeks left. I'm not good with performing in front of people anyway. I love to sing but only alone in the shower, inanimate objects tend to not be so damn judgey. The staring and whispering continued throughout the day and, honestly, it was starting to piss me off. I felt like a shiney new thing that must be discussed, like, I'm not a Pokemon card people. I internally eyeroll.
At lunch I followed Raychel to where the group meet up, at the far end of the football oval. "You seem to be causing quite a stir" Raychel announced as she squatted next to me. I looked at her, amused by how she was sitting. She must have noticed the confusion because she told me "I don't want grass stains on my bum."
"That'll learn you for wearing white jeans," I chuckled, shaking my head "anyway what do mean I'm causing a stir?" I asked confused.
"Well all the guys seem to be noticing you and the girls don't like it, they like the attention all to themselves and you're stealing it" she explained with a 'get over yourselves' look. I stifled my giggle she looked so silly squatting like that trying to eat her sandwich. I was having a hard time taking her seriously. "Oh my god that's so pathetic!" I choked out, not able to hold my laugh in any longer. Raychel laughed alongside me and lost her balance falling on her ass. By now had tears rolling down my face. When we finally calmed ourselves we looked up to see the rest of the group approaching us, looking at us with weirded out faces, they had no idea what we were laughing about, Raychel and I looked at each other and, at the exact same time, we burst out laughing again holding our sides as more tears ran down my now red cheeks.
We calmed down eventually. I couldn't laugh anymore my stomach was hurting and I could tell my face was bright red. We all began chatting away talking about our day and having a laugh.
I couldn't help but notice the group of girls, sitting 2 metres or so away from us, staring my way looking like I was something that needs to be squashed quickly. After about 15 minutes of this I couldn't handle it anymore, the pent up fustration of the whispers and stares throughout the day bubbling finally bubbling over.
"Am I wearing your t-shirt?" I snapped at the blonde haired bimbo with massive boobs. She seemed to be the ring leader.
"Sorry?" the Bimbo asked putting her hand over her heart pretending to be oblivious to what I had insinuated.
"I didn't stutter, what the hell are you looking at?" I snapped.
"I'll let you know when I figure it out" She replied looking me up and down as if she was analyzing me before she and her lemmings roared with laughter.
My group... Holy crap! did I just refer to them as MY GROUP? Anyway they looked at me with blank expressions wondering what I would do next. Boy did they get a shock when I burst out laughing. They all looked to one another clearly puzzled as to what was so funny. Well, all except Jazmine who was glaring at bimbo with daggers in her eyes. She went to get up but I put my hand on her shoulder and shook my head. I finally suppressed my laughter long enough to reply...
"Wow... Did you think that up all on your own?" and then lost it completely so much so I had tears streaming down my face once again. I could hear my group roaring with laughter along side me. "It's obvious english isn't you're strongest subject, Donna, may I suggest you pull you're head out of your ass long enough to learn a bigger vocabulary?" Jazmine choked out holding up her hand for a hi-5 unsteadily as her laughing made her weak. I hi-5ed her with the hand that wasn't still on her shoulder.
