ELENA
I slam my book down aggressively and slightly growl. I get up and walk out toward the kitchen.
"What in the ever living hell is that smell that makes my throat burn like it is?" I snap. Jasper's eyes grow dark and Alice grabs his hand.
"You didn't tell her?" Emmett says darkly.
"We forgot, she was in a good mood, it slipped our minds." Esme says calmly.
"What are you talking about?" I ask crossing my arms, the burning in my throat getting worse.
"Edward is bringing a friend over." Esme states with a sympathedic smile.
"Quit trying to be easy about it." Rosalie snaps. "Elena, Edward exposed us to a human and he is bringing her over. I say you just kill him and get it over with." My throat constricts slightly.
"He just has to ruin everything." I mutter before turning and walking toward the terrace.
"Hunting isn't going to dull the pain any." Jasper says. "It won't satisfy the cravings or anything. It makes it worse actually."
"Of course." I mutter.
"Elena just go upstairs for now." Carlisle says with a slight sigh. I huff slightly before going upstairs. I slam down in my chair and cross my arms. I pick up my book and try to start reading again. The pain in my throat grows stronger, making my head spin. I put the book down and hold my head in my hands. I whimper slightly before falling out of the chair onto my knees. The pain gets worse and I cry out. I place my palms on the floor to hold myself up as the pain worsens. I squeeze my eyes shut tightly as my arms start to shake. An arm wraps around me and pulls me up slightly, a hand gently rubbing my back. My head spins and my vision blurs.
"It's okay, it'll be okay." Emmett whispers. I close my eyes again and lean against my brother. My throat constricts and I whimper. I inhale his scent, to try to overpower the human stench, and slightly relax. It only lasts about a second. I gasp from the pain and my head throbs. "You shouldn't have let him bring her here Carlisle. The Volturi will find out, they aren't going to like this."
"She already knew. There was no point in telling her otherwise." Carlisle says.
"We could've just told her she's crazy and went on with our lives!" Rosalie snaps. "Letting her come here doesn't only put her in danger, but it puts all of us in danger. Aro won't kill any of us, but Caius will. They'll let Alice and Elena live. That's all. You know that."
"They won't kill anyone, they aren't going to find out." Carlisle states.
"They'll find out. You know they will." I spit. "They always do."
"They are not going to find out." Carlisle says.
"They will, and when they do, don't come crying to me when they're about to rip your head off and burn your corpse." I sneer through the pain.
"It won't be long before they figure it out." Rosalie states. Emmett gently rubs my arm. The scent of human blood gets stronger and I gasp from the pain before pressing my hands against my head. I bury my face in my brother's chest and he rubs my back soothingly as I try to suppress my anguished cries.
"You're going to have to do something about this Carlisle, it'll kill her otherwise." Emmett says with a hint of anger in his voice.
"I'll see what I can find." Carlisle sighs.
"Just get rid of the human!" Rosalie yells. "And Edward while you're at it! It's killing Elena!"
While yes, I feel quite like my head is bound to explode at any moment, she's not wrong. Rosalie and I both hate Edward, but for totally different reasons. He rejected her, and well always tries to kill me somehow. Rosalie and I also get along because of Emmett, my brother her mate. There's a lot of reasons why we get along. We hit on a different level, we're practically sisters. No we didn't always get along and fight for each other like this, but it didn't take long before we did. She loves my brother and I am my brother's keeper.
"We'll accommodate to it, Rosalie. There's always away around things." Carlisle says.
"Oh, is that why you're so confident about the Volturi not coming for us? There's always away around things. Not always. Somethings you just can't go around." Emmett snaps.
"We'll find away around it." Carlisle says sternly.
