Ring.
I look at my phone and smile.
"Hey." Max sent.
"Hey." I reply.
"So are we on for tonight?" He asks.
"It depends on the activities planned that will push me to decide." I send.
That was really sophisticated on my end. You go Paige!
"Really? But what if they're a surprise?" He asks.
"Hmm. It's a surprise?" I send.
"Yes. So are we taking my car?" He asks.
"That's fine with me quarterback." I reply.
"Good. I wasn't taking your truck for an answer." He says.
"Should I be offended?" I ask.
"Nope. But I have seen you drive, it's not the prettiest quality of yours." He replies.
"I am both offended and flattered." I say as the bell rings.
Ring.
"Same place?" Max asks.
"Yep." I reply quickly.
I walk out to my truck where Max's car is parked.
"Hey there quarterback." I tease, swinging my keys around my index finger.
"Hey there kitten." He winks.
I blush but try to hide it by running to my side of the truck and getting in.
"I saw that!" Max yells from below my passenger side window.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" I yell over starting my trucks engine.
I see him laughing as he backs out of the parking spot.
I pull out and drive to my house, park and walk to his car parked on the curb.
"Okay." I lock my truck. "Ready." I reach for the door handle of his car.
"Woah, woah. Is this all you're bringing?" He asks.
"Should I bring something else?" I ask holding up my small bag.
"Um, yes?" He tilts his head.
"See, if you'd tell me what we're doing before then I could be prepared." I shake my head.
"Well, not gonna happen. But I'd bring an extra pair of clothes and something to sleep in just in case." He smirks.
"Just in case?" I run my fingers through my hair.
"Yeah I don't know when we'll be done so if we need to, we can stay at the house until tomorrow." He explains.
"Oh. Okay." I say brushing off the intimate idea that popped into my head of staying the night with Max.
