The World In A Better Light

Soon after their mourning period, Goku gathers Bulma and they left on their adventure, leaving a forever mournful Mei Lin alone. Two hours later, Master Roshi comes back home to a destroyed home and a distraught granddaughter. He looks for his daughter, but realizes that her time in this world has ran out. Together, they cry as a family. Being very hesitant and weary, they learn to live without their sanity-keeper, Mitsuki. During this time,Mei Lin trains nonstop everyday,until the point where she surpasses her Grandfather. She trains so she can be as strong,or even stronger, than Mitsuki, not knowing that she had already surpassed her the day of her death. She grabs ahold of her mental reigns and tries to find peace within the turmoil in her life. She becomes physically stronger, but there is still a mental demon that she can't seem to conquer: Her want and desire for Goku

10 Days Later

Mei Lin's POV

I was so excited today. I was finally able to leave Kame House and train in the mountains. Though Grandpa was against it at first, he changed his mind. Even though I can only go for few hours, it's still better than nothing. I grab my gift from Bulma and some water and walk out of the house. I look at my present  for the first time in a while.Before she left, Bulma gave me this little music thing. I think she called it an "B-Pod" or something of the sorts. I like,even though it kinda creeps me out. I had never seen anything like it, but the music is awesome,so I use it anyways. I put the little tube-thingies in my ears and press it to play. I enjoy the song that plays, so I float up into the air and begin to fly away. I begin to drown the rest of the world out as I listen to the words of the song get into my mind, helping me block out the world even more:

To listen to me whine

About nothing and everything

All at once?

I am one of those 

Melodramatic fools

Neurotic to the bone

No doubt about it!

Sometimes I give myself the creeps

Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me

It all keeps adding up

Am I just stoned?

Just as I was getting into the song, I felt something hit the side of my head. It felt like a tiny pinch on my temple. I grabbed the object with my tail before it fell into the ocean and looked at it. I realized that it was bullet and started to spaz out. "Why didn't that hurt!?!? Why am I not falling into the ocean,dead!?!?".

Before I have time to question myself even more, I sense another bullet coming straight for me, so I followed my instinct and grab the bullet and crushed it. Though I was still panicking about how I could do that, I searched for the source of the bullets. I had to squint,but I saw something blue in the forest, so I flew straight for it. I was about to punch this stupid person,when I realized who it was..

"Hi Bulma.".

"I thought you were ignoring me at first! Hi Ka Ka!!! I missed you!".

"You missed me enough to try and kill me!?!?".

"I knew I wouldn't hurt you. Remember when I shot at you before? You laughed and said it tickled!!!". She was right. When we had first met, I had a huge cut on my forehead,so blood was all over my face. She thought I was a predator or something of the sorts,so she began to shoot at me. The bullets felt like little tickles,so I began to laugh. She then realized that I was her mother's patient and thought she had hurt me even more than I already was. I kept laughing, making her think I was a mental patient. I calmed down and talked to her, and from that day forward we were sisters for life. The only odd thing that didn't make sense to me was that I was really short, because I was 5, and she thought I was an adult.

"Why were you shooting at, Bulma? Is something wrong?"

"No, I wanted to tell you about my adventure with Goku!!"

"Oh yeah... Goku". Goku had been on my mind for quite some time now, and her bringing him up didn't help me to forget him. He was something of a weakness for me, just like my fears of bugs and of the dark. I couldn't wrap my mind around...

"KA KA!!! HEY!!! YOU ALIVE IN THERE!!!!" she says, as she waves her hand in my face.

"Yeah, I'm fine! Just tell me about your adventures so I can go to the mountains!!!".

"Ok!! Come sit down!! I made us a picnic, so have a sandwich and listen!!". I reluctantly sit down, knowing I'm never gonna make it to the mountains now. It's only been a 10 days, so there's not  much can she tell me... Right?

2 Hours Later

"....And that was our adventure looking for the dragon balls!".

"How in the hell did you manage to pick up a guy in all of this again?".

"I used my keen skills and my...assets. It all worked out in the end.

"Bulma, I swear to Kami you are sincerely crazy!!!" I say while getting up. As I get up, a tail of some sorts falls in my face. I knew it wasn't my tail, due to the fact that it was black and white. My eyes got bigger as I realized what was on me..

"SKUNK!! GET IT OFF!!" I say I get up and start flailing around. I keep screaming, and start running in a circle, hoping it would fall off. It didn't even flinch when I was running!!! I keep running around, while Bulma laughs at me, until I run into a tree and black out.... Trees really hurt.

At Capsule Corp

I wearily open my eyes and see people around me. I see my second family, the Briefs, Bulma's new boyfriend... I think, Gramps, a bald kid with no nose, a pig, and ... Goku.

"Yay!! You're awake!" says Goku,as he jumps on me. I can't move anywhere, since I'm laying in a hospital bed in one of the many rooms in Capsule Corp. And,again, I can't help but to blush at Goku.

"Nice to see you too Goku. I heard about your Dragon Ball adventure.".

"Did you hear about that bossy girl Chi-Chi? She wants me to marry her!!!".

"Yes, I heard about her. But what I don't understand is how you know what "bossy" means.".

"Hey! My Grandpa was smart!!".I begin to laugh, making myself cough, and Mama Briefs runs over to me, turning away from her conversation she was having with Papa Briefs.

"Great, you're awake now! How do you feel?".

"My head hurts, but besides that I'm fine."

"I'm glad that's all! You surely hit that tree pretty hard. I'm gonna give you some headache medicine, so it will stop hurting.".

"Thanks Mama Briefs!! Now Goku, be a pal and get off of me!". I politely yell at him, making everyone laugh.

After some introductions, I have met Yamacha, who is Bulma's boyfriend, Oolong, a shape-shifting pig, Krillin, a little bald kid. I try to take this all in, when Goku suddenly says, 

"Guess what Mei!?!?!? I'm coming to train with you and your Grandpa at Kame House!!".

"Great!!", I said even though my heart had just jumped into my throat. Now he's gonna be all around me all the time.... Why does Kami love to torture me!??!
