The New School

Quickly covering my eyes as the sun shines through the now open blinds. I sit up on my bed and look around my room to see my mom staring at me in disappointment. 
"Scarlett, it is 6:15... school starts in 15 minutes and you haven't even woken up yet." She sighs and throws the blanket off of me, exposing my skin to the cold air.
"Alright... alright I'm up." I sigh and slowly stand up while bringing up hands up to my eyes and rubbing them. I bring my hands down to my lap and look around my room trying to find my phone.

Once I found my phone I grab it and look through my messages, finding nothing important I turn my phone off and get ready for school. I make my way to my closet and pull out a black and olive green stripped shirt with a black velvet buttoned up skirt. Not really caring about dressing too fancy for the first day of school I grab the clothes and toss them on after taking a short cold shower. I put on a minimal amount of makeup and leave my hair down, letting my natural black wavy hair show. Once I was all ready I rushed down the wooden stairs and quickly grabbed my black Oxfords.

"Honey come on, we are already late enough."
I hear my mom yell from outside, sighing I quickly make my way to the car and get inside. We drive off and a few minutes later we pull up to a big school.
"Hemlock Grove High School... This should be fun."
"Don't be so sarcastic hun, I'm sure that you will have an amazing day and you will end up loving the school." She smiles and pulls me close to her, giving me a kiss on my forehead.
"Bye mom" I step out of the car and look at the school before finally gathering all the courage I had left in me and walking inside. I take a deep breath and exhale quietly, making my way to my locker. Putting away all the unneeded things and keeping what was needed. Out of the corner of my eye I see someone very tall walking towards me.

Quickly closing my locker and trying to leave before they arrived I turned around jumped back. A boy stood in front of me about 6'4 inches tall, nicely dressed, short brown hair, and gorgeous green eyes. Awkwardly smiling and waving I try to part ways but I was stopped as I felt a warm hand grab my arm.
Turning around I see him staring at me with a blank expression, not looking away from him he let's go of my hand, running his fingers through his hair.
"You're the new girl right?.. what's your name?" I take a small step back from him since we were pretty close to each other. "Scarlett Simons, and you must be?"

I move my arm out in front of me and he leans against his locker and reaches his hand out towards mine.
"Roman, Roman Godfrey" he winks at me as he opens his locker and takes out a book, closing the locker door he smiles at me and walks away. "See you later scarlett"

I smile to myself feeling a warm fleeing brush upon my cheeks. I ignore it and walked to my class. Class today went by pretty quickly and I was stopped by Roman a few times. We didn't talk about much, it was mostly just him flirting and me laughing awkwardly. Once everyone started to leave school I decided to walk home instead of getting a ride.

The weather was nice outside and it was a decent walk but I could handle it. As I walked down the street I felt the cool air brush up against my exposed skin making a smile come across my face. I looked up at the sky and continued to walk until I heard a car honk. Jumping back I looked to my left and saw a red car drive up to me. As the window rolled down I saw Roman sitting in the front seat, looking down and reaching to the door to open it.

"Need a ride?"
Taking a moment to think about his offer I nod my head and smile, getting into the car and closing the door.
"T...Thank you" I look at him and smile
"No problem" he slicked his hair back and started the engine, driving me back to my house as I gave him the directions.
I thank him once more and step out of the car, waving as he drives off. I walk inside my house and close the door behind me with a huge smile on my face. Running up to my room I toss my bag onto the floor and fall onto my memory foam bed. Before I knew it my eyes began to get heavy and the next thing I knew I was sleeping.
