Chapter 16: Temptation

Payton’s POV:

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know you two were well… you know.” I said.

“I KNOW!”  she screamed before realising he was still in her house, “I know.” she whispered.

“Spill!” I said getting closer when I realised she wasn’t actually going to slap me.

“Later. When they aren’t here, okay?” she said. I nodded and wheeled her back to the living room. It was weird to wheel her because she had to help with the left side while I pushed the right because my left shoulder/arm was still in a sling. We made it work though.

When we got back to the living room Ryan was sitting on the couch with my brother, trying to help him get some coffee actually IN his mouth. So I did what any good sister would do… I discreetly took out my phone and took a video, in case I ever needed to blackmail him. I would probably never use it, but it feels good to have leverage on him.

After I finished filming I went over to the couch to help Ryan.

A couple minutes passed when the door flew open, catching all of our attentions.

In stumbled Shawn.

“Shawn!” Lynsey said looking back at Daniel and back to Shawn. “Uhh… um.”

Shawn closed the door and sat down in a chair.

“Um… Daniel just had a little too much to drink and…” she started to tell him before he held up a hand to shush her.

“Honestly Lyns,” he started “I couldn’t care less… Can you please just go get me some Advil, Coffee, and water? And is mom home?”

Lynsey realised that her brother was drunk too, “”Yeah sure. And I don’t think so. I haven’t seen her. You didn’t drive did you?”

“Alright good.” he said as he pulled the lever on the side of the chair, making it recline, “And no. I didn’t drive, please just go.” he waved his hand up in the air.

“Okay okay.” she said and looked at me.

I wheeled her to the kitchen again. We grabbed two Advil, a bottle of water, and got him a cup of coffee. We went back out to see Daniel passed out on the couch and Shawn had his eyes closed holding his head. We went over to him and gave him everything. “Thanks” he said.

When Shawn finished he tried to stand and wobbled a little, “I’m gonna go to my room and try to sleep. See you tomorrow.” he said as he teetered to his room.

Ryan looked over at the clock, “Well, I better get going.” he picked Daniel off of him and stood up.

“Are you sure you’re going to be okay to drive?” I asked him, “I mean I’m sure that you can stay and head out later, it’s like five in the morning. You know how many drunks are probably on the road? You should just stay.”

“Yeah you should just stay.” Lynsey chimed in.

He smiled, “Are you sure?” he directed towards Lynsey, since it was her house.

“Of course.” she said, “you can take the guest bedroom.”

“Oh no… I can sleep on the couch.” he said.

“No. He can take the couch.” I said. Meaning my brother, “He’ll probably spend most of the night with his head in the toilet anyways.”

Ryan laughed, “Alright. Thanks, let me just call my parents.” He walked out of the room calling his parents.
