There's Something About James

Authors note: Most events are based on true moments. And I have known "James" practically my whole life and I will not reveal his real name because a lot of people can relate to this "James" character

CHAPTER ONE

It was Tuesday and the biggest thing had just happened to me. James, one of my best friends had just asked me out! He was basically one of the only guys I trusted. And I had totally felt the same way about him! I just loved him to death and thought he was really cute and funny. I just could stop thinking about how it all happened.

We were hanging out in lunch all by ourselves like always and he told me I was pretty. I just started to blush immediately and said thanks. Then he just said how I was his only girl best friend and stuff like that. Then out of nowhere he popped the question "will you go out with me"? I was screaming with joy inside but I calmly said "ok". I was just so happy like my first real boyfriend.

I told almost all my friends I even told random people. But then I realized I had to tell my mom. I just prayed and hoped to God that she would be ok with me dating him. And then the school bell rang and I told James "bye I'll see tomorrow" and he just said "ok babe". I blushed on my way to my mom's car. She was on her phone like always and I told her "mom I need to tell you something really important". She just "ok" and I got really nervous. When we finally got home I told her what happened and she just looked at me scared. She told me " I'm gonna trust you but you have to tell your father". And trust me that way worse than telling my mom.

When my dad got I told him exactly what I told my mom and he just told me "can I talk to privately". I was really nervous like face all red and about to barf nervous. And he just said "you're older and I get that but I need you be careful with this boy. He better treat you like a princess or I'll.." I stopped him there and replied "does that mean I can go out with him?" He sighed and said "yes, yes you can baby girl.

CHAPTER 2

It was official the whole word got around school that me and James were dating. Everyone was so shocked that I was actually dating someone. As I walked around the school with my friends I saw him there moving nervously as I approached him. I came up and told him "hey" and he just blushed. He best friends peer pressured him into giving me a kiss on the cheek but he didn't. James is one of those guys who are really funny and dorky, but they can get really nervous about something.

As I went to class he walked me there and said "bye see ya later". I just couldn't stop smiling during 2nd period. The whole class I just thought about how adorable he was. And as 4th period approached I couldn't wait to see him because we have the same lunch together. I walked into my 4th period and my classmates gave me "the look". My whole face was red in embarrassment. The teacher even noticed how strange the class looked at me. As me and my best friends walked to the cafeteria James walked by and pretended not to notice me. In the cafeteria I sat with him alone and I was red the whole time. But it was okay because so was he. James would complement me and just say the sweetest things ever I just loved him to death. But the embarrassing thing you could hear all my friends saying "get that girl" and "she want that". He just laughed and said "just ignore them babe" and I just gave him a kiss on the cheek.

James was different from other guys. I could trust him more and he was just like a clone of me, except he was a guy. We basically had everything in common and I just can't believe that we were going out. As lunch ended I walked him to class and my home room teacher noticed that we acted different than usual and said "aren't you two so cute together". As we awkwardly walked away I told him bye and gave a kiss on the cheek and scurried along to class.

As 6th period approached I saw him the hallway and we just smiled and laughed a little. I thought about him the rest of algebra class and wrote his name all over my notebook. And the teacher went by and skimmed my notes and say "James + Nina" and "J+N". Also some of my classmates even noticed the doodles but I managed to hide them in my book bag so no one could see. The bell rang an the long school day was finally over but I secretly wished it could have lasted longer.
