The music was so loud I could barely hear my own thoughts. Someone's hands were on my hips, pulling me into them, but I knew it wasn't Brayden. He was across the room, his angry eyes locked on mine. He had no right to be angry. We weren't dating. I wasn't his fucking possession. I turned around to face whoever was grinding on me, stumbling back slightly as I saw it was Harrison. Well damn, no wonder Brayden was so pissed off.
"I think your boyfriend is-"
"He's not my boyfriend." I quickly cut him off.
"Then keep dancing." Harrison smirked, pulling me against him once again.
I turned back around to find Brayden, but he was gone. I closed my eyes, just letting myself move with Harrison. I had to admit, dancing with Harrison was a lot better than sitting on the couch moping like I usually did with Brayden at parties. Harrison swept my long curls off my neck, his lips brushing against the sensitive skin. "Wait..." I jerked away from him.
Harrison held his hands up in surrender "Hey, I'm not gonna force you, Ash. But if you're holding back because of Brayden, maybe you should go find him and talk."
"Thank you." I said before starting my hunt for Brayden. He wasn't in our normal spot on the couch or by the keg outside. He hadn't been on the dancefloor, so where the hell was my not-boyfriend? I spotted the twins outside and quickly went over to see if they knew where he'd gotten to.
"Big sister alert." Jett said, jokingly trying to hide his joint behind his back.
"You're an idiot." I muttered. "Since when do I try to turn you in?"
"Good point." Jett said, holding the joint out to me. I shook my head and he shrugged, passing it to the kid next to him. "What's up, Ash? I thought the rule at parties was we don't know each other?"
"Do you know where Brayden is?" I asked.
"Man, I don't stalk your boyfriend. No." Jett rolled his eyes.
"He's not her boyfriend." Avery said quickly. "And last I saw, he was in the front room talking with Cade."
"Apparently Ave does stalk your boyfriend." Jett smirked "Better watch yourself there, Ash."
"You're such a fucking pain." Avery huffed "I need another drink." She walked off, muttering under her breath about wishing to be an only child.
I chose to ignore the sibling drama and went to the front room, but there was no Brayden. There was no Cade either. There was a Lila who enthusiastically threw her arms around me. "ASHLYNNNNN" she squealed. "Have I told you how hot you look tonight?"
"Yes, we got ready together." I laughed, trying to peel her off me.
"But like. You look really hot. Not just best friend hot." Lila said, her grip much stronger than I expected for how small she was.
"Thank you, Li. Have you seen Brayden?" I asked.
"Fuck Bayden. He doesn't deserve you." Lila pouted "Why do you like him anyways? There's better people. Hotter people. Nicer people." Her eyes got a little more urgent "People like me."
"Li, you're drunk. Let me get you some water and-"I was cut off by Lila kissing me hard on the lips. I was so surprised, I stumbled back into the wall behind us, breaking the kiss. "Lila, what are you-"but she was already back to kissing me, her hands tangled in my hair. Part of me just wanted to kiss her back. Part of me was concerned about my best friend being so drunk she was willing to make out with me. But the biggest part of me still wanted to find Brayden.
