All he could see was fire, fire engulfed wood, wood everywhere. What from, he thought to himself, then darkness. He awoke with a start, his tongue was swollen from the lack of water, he saw another person but she was motionless, "Poppy", he croaked. There was no reply, he tried to crawl over to her but a pain shot from his back straight through him to his leg making him cry out in pain.
He staggered through the forest he could still see clouds of smoke from the fires behind him, "Poppy what have we got ourselves into" he muttered. Rory looked at himself in the murky lake below him, his hair what once was a sandy brown turned into a dark brown, matted with blood of his own and mud. His eyes the colour blue of the deepest ocean, his friends always told him that his eyes always said something different. He stared at his scar running through his left eyebrow, he had gotten from defending his mother four years ago, his father was a worthless drunk, he lashed out his mother when she got home from work. This happened four years ago and he could still feel the searing pain that his father gave to him. If his mother saw him right now she would probably say how tall he's gotten or get in the shower your filthy. "If only I could say I love you for one last time," He muttered to himself. He decided to lay down and try and rest but he could only think of the motionless body of his girlfriend Poppy, he still thought of the fire, fire which he didn't know it's origin.
When he woke up he heard birds all singing different tunes, None of them as good as Bastille he thought. He got up ignoring the pain that was shooting down his back from sleeping on the tree roots of a normal tree, his leg however was bloody. What from I wounder he thought, but he disregarded this thought as he was scared of finding out the answer, he tried to limp back to the beach but was instantly put down onto the floor because something was tied round his leg, What in God's name is this he thought to himself. He tried to untie it but the ropes intention was to never let go, but then he had an idea what if he cut the rope with a rock. He looked around trying to find one but all that he could find was small pieces of flint, "If there are smaller pieces of flint then they must've fallen off a bigger piece." He said thinking out loud, he found the bigger piece, "But it's to big." He tried and tried to break a bit off but he couldn't. He noticed something different about the forest, it was silent silence great, everybody knows that silence is a bad thing in all films. The birds aren't singing, he heard footsteps, footsteps that were coming closer every time, then he started to hear breathing, loud and heavy breathing, like someone who just ran a marathon, "Who's there," he said trying to be confident but probably failing. There was no reply. If I could get the rope off my leg then I can run, Rory continued to try and saw through the rope with the small pieces of flint but it refused to be cut. Rory said one more time, "Who's there," but this time there was a click of the fingers, why did it do that for. Then the rope around his legs started to unwind it's self, it left a red mark against Rory's skin, probably going to say like that for awhile, "Thanks," said Rory not sure if there was going to be a reply, then he saw a human like silhouette in the forest. Then it moved, it started to run Rory heard the footsteps going further and further away. What in Gods name was that, Rory got up, the birds started to sing again the same tune as before, but they seemed unaffected but what they saw, like time was frozen for them, Rory turned to go back towards the beach, man I'm lucky 1) I wasn't killed by that thing and 2) The fires are still going on at the beach. Rory started to walk towards the fires then realizing something, it's Poppy's birthday today, what a birthday present......
Rory continued to stagger toward the beach, but when he finally got there Poppy was gone, but there's no tracks anywhere, he could still she where she lay motionless, after the crash nothing has been the same strange, human things and rope that unties it's self and the one that I loved gone. He continued to search the beach, for something, anything to remind him of what happened, all he found was the name of something, "Aquam Undis". What on earth does that mean, I mean really who would name something that....... "Wait," he shouted but as soon as he had done that he regretted it because something moved in the undergrowth, then a rabbit fled out. Rory breathed a sigh of relief that's good i thought it was th- his thought was instantly cut off by a deafening roar, Rory fell to the floor and covered his ears, it didn't help. Then Rory fainted, the thing that produced the roar smiled, smiled because it just made it's job 10 times easier, I hate squirming humans. It thought, it picked up Rory with ease hoping in doing so that the human wouldn't wake up, it carried Rory for 2 day with only stopping to re hydrate it's self. Rory opened his eyes only to see that the floor, "Wha-", Rory said through the murkiness of his unconscious "Silentium," said the thing carrying Rory roughly, but Rory sensed that the human-thing put on the roughness and that it didn't mean it, and that there's a silkiness to the voice, what does silentuim mean..... The human-like person put Rory down next to a tree and clicked his fingers the same rope came out of the tree and wrapped round his legs and trying him to the tree, goddamn not again but now Rory could see the human-like creature, it looked human, its human, apart from his ears and eyes. "Can you speak English," said Rory, "You mean the common tongue," said the creature roughly. Rory continued to study the creature, it had mouth that curled up at the ends and on his chest he wore nothing it was bare, Rory noticed as he moved that the creatures muscles rippled as he moved and that he had a scar running across his back making him look even more terrifying. "What do you mean the 'Common tongue' I think it's English, what are you and where am I," said Rory fearing the worst that could happen. The creature ignored him but smiled because he liked the humans innocence, he found the human very brave, "I'm an elf," said the creature with his normal voice "And my name is bellator fortis: and that in the common tongue or English as you like to call it, it's a strong warror I got called that because I won the worst battle of our time."
