He had no idea love still existed in his heart,

PROLOGUE

Her sticky sweet smell overpowered all sense in his mind. Blood pooled from her back onto his quivering hands. Mist fell on them, leaves clung to their legs. The air once free and full of life loomed over, dank and thick.

Jasper embedded his head in Samantha's neck. 'At least you tried' a voice echoed within his mind. The vampire lifted his head to the sky, releasing as much fury as he dared;

"May the Gods damn you to hell and back Freya!" He roared at the blood red moon.

Jasper would've cried then, being like most vampires though- his pride was larger than his immortality, thus he refused to let the tears fall. Between the loss of energy and blood oozing from his wounds, Jasper was slowly edging into drowsiness. He clutched the love of his life closer, fighting to stay conscious for a few more seconds so he could teleport them back to his mansion. 'weak'  The assassins' body couldn't take the damage dealt to it, he couldn't take her back to Widow Creek. 'please' but it was already too late.

Jasper slouched into the tree  his back was against; Samantha's weight filled his numbing arms as he faded. It was then that the past- when Samantha was Eveanna, When he was sent to kill her mother, to hate her; that past, was coming back to engulf his mind as he lay unconscious in the middle of the Northern Woodland...
