Terra POV:

Cole and I sat on the hill and talked for hours, but only seemed like minuets. We ended up leaving at sundown because it got to dark to talk anymore.

As we parted our ways I saw my little brother ,Bae, run up too me with a scared look on his face.

"Ter! Ter! Its mama! Shes...shes...-" and then he broke down in front of me and burst into tears.

I hugged him and and reassured him several times everything was going to be okay.

Bae was the strongest seven year old I ever met.You never would have guest we were related because of his platinum blond hair and bright blue eyes, and my scarlet red hair and deep brown eyes. He did some farming and trading in our local black market (which is where we get some of our money) and was already in battle camp, where he was the youngest person there and never cried. I'm proud of him. Which is why I'm worried.

Once he calmed down I calmly asked him what was wrong.

"Bae, what about mama?"

He sniffed and looked at me right in the eye and said. "Mama. She's was very ill-"

I interrupted him "Why are you talking about Mama in the past tence?"

He started tearing up again. "Mama, she threw up and coughed. Alot. So I went into town to find Dr. Gianni to help. But when we got back...it was too late. She was lying very still, and-and black stuff was coming from her mouth and-and-and-" Then he broke into tears again.

We were never close, my mother and I, but it was still sad to see her go.

I held him in my arms and made little clucking noises. "Come along. Its going to be a long night".

~~The Next Day~~

I looked at myself in the mirror. I wore a black V-neck dress and a small black veil I found in my mothers room. I was in there earlier when I was looking for things too sell to pay for the funeral. Yep, today was my mothers funeral day.

I took and deep breathe, smoothed the invisible wrinkles off of my dress, and walked out of my room.

I walked into Bae's room and leaned against the door way. He was sitting in his bed fiddling with something in his hands. I knocked softly to get his attention. He turned around and smiled faintly, but disappeared within seconds.

"What you got there, Bae?"

I walked over and sat beside him as he showed me what his little hands held.

I gasped. He held a small toy soldier carved out of wood our father gave him when he was just born.

I now exactly why he loved that soldier, especially at a time like this.

I remember years ago he was playing in the garden and scratched his thumb on a thorn. He ran as fast as his little legs would go to our mother. She took a look at the little cut, kissed it and said "My little soldier, your so brave. And every soldier needs a partner in battle, don't they? I found this the other day, its from your father. He gave it to you not-so-long ago, but we must have misplaced it."

Ever since, he loved that toy.

I reached out for his hand and he took it. "Come on. Its time to go".

And we were on our way

~~Later that Day~~

There we stood, hand in hand. Bae in one hand and Cole in the other. It was us, my Nonni, and family friends listening to our priest read out of the bible.

A silent tear trickled down my face.

Damn, I hate crying in front of people.

Cole must have noticed, because he looked me in the eyes and gave my hand a reassuring squeeze.

It's going to be okay ,I read. We know each other so well I can read his mind, but not really.

As the priest lowered my mothers casket into the ground, I noticed something in the corner of my eye. It was a crazy woman no older than 20 or so, came wobbling by all wide eyed.

Then, time froze. It seemed as if I was the only one still conscious. And so was the crazy looking woman.

She looked right at me and then...well I'm not sure exactly what happend.

Her eyes turned a glowing green and smoke came spilling out of her mouth.

"Wha-What is this? Whats going on?"

In a strange voice, that was in a deep and high voice, spoke a rydle.

The city you love will go down in flames,

The time to go and face his rage.

A quest for three, no more no less

The one that lives shall be the best

The everything went black.
