My palms made the thin cards become sweat. I wiped my forehead with my sleeve, and looked again at my cards.
It was a two and an eight. In other words I had crap. I wanted to bluff with the people around me. I put a heavy amount into the pot. They all folded but, one man. He wanted to test my bluff. I looked back at my cards.
I studied the letters on the card. I didn't want to lose this hand, I need to win this game. I took a gander at my chips, they were set mighty high but, could easily be brought down by a bad hand.
I hesitated to fold my cards because this guy didn't seem to have a good poker face. He would smile every time a good hand came his way.
I looked at his face. I looked at every small pour on his body. His face said nothing, his dark eyes were just scanned the remaining the cards in the middle.
I bit hard on my thumb. I continued to look at his face. His small patches of hair on his face were tangled and seemed to be giving an untrustworthy feeling towards him.
I grabbed a small amount of chips and threw it onto the green table. The man immediately threw in more chips.
He flipped over the last card for bidding. I wanted to fold badly. I just didn't want to lose the amount of money in the pot though. I looked back at my stack. I didn't want to lose that either.
I grabbed my thin mustache and curled it as I thought. I needed to just risk it, I was already so far into this hand.
I then remembered the easiest thing to do when your stumped.
"I'm gonna check" I said pressing my fingers hard on the cards.
The man decided to be fair and check as well. I flipped over my wet cards and he laughed while flipping over his.
"I win partner," he put his arm in front of the chips and pulled them close to his chest. They came really close to the end of the table.
"I'm gonna cash out fellas," he said with a strong southern accent.
Now that startled the men who folded because all their money was basically in his hands.
"Boy sit back down and play the next hand!"
"Yeah come on we are all still playing until we bust out, why don't you?"
The man didn't talk. He looked across the table suspiciously. He really shouldn't have done that because that raised the eye brows of all these men.
A man in a white suit and gray hair stood up out of his seat and pointed.
"I saw those eyes you were cheating!"
The men at the table arose to this conclusion. I'm not the one to pick sides so I remained silent.
"I was not! I played fair and square you all saw it!"
Everyone at the casino turned to our table. You never shout out someone's cheating and expect everyone to be going on with their business.
I leaned back in my uncomfortable chair trying to become relaxed. I studied his face trying to figure him out.
He was acting like a cheater or maybe a terrified man. It didn't matter to me as long as I get to cash out with a positive score.
