Love Beyond Peace

Social Repose looked in to the empty room of the girl he loved. The bed was made neatly with light blue sheets, the vanity held a hairbrush and several veils with one flower crown placed neatly in the middle, she had pieces of paper lying at the foot of her bed but mostly it was empty and lonely.
Sighing Social Repose turned away from the room tracked out to the Forrest. He made his way to the little clearing towards the middle and looked out at pile of black cloth that held the woman he loved.
He walked over slowly and laid beside her. It was heart wrenching to know that he would have to let her go soon.
"What would your name have been if it wasn't changed?" Indigo asked in a daze. She had spent the last hour talking with pixies and the smell of their perfume still lingered in her nose like a drug that could calm the roughest sea.
"What?" Social Repose asked and laughed a little.
"I was just thinking of the day we became friends. You said that the natives renamed you. So what would you have been called?" Indigo's voice soothed over social repose and nothing else mattered at the moment.
"I would have been Richard the second." He said and ran his fingers through the curled mess of blue and green hair that indigo hated so much.
Indigo giggled a little. "What is it?" He asked looking down at her.
"Nothing just, Little Richie." She laughed a little more and he groaned.
"How on earth did you hear that name?" Social repose asked.
"As a princess we were taught all the names of eligible prince's we may one day marry." She said smiling at him.
Social Repose's hand stilled. "What's the matter?" Indigo asked anxiety rising.
"There's something you need to know." Indigo nodded. "There is a way to end all of this between your father and the Galec. But it's not exactly ideal."
Indigo frowned "what is it?"
"Marriage. Which would be fine but-" Social Repose started
"There's only one child, a prince." Indigo smeared and rolled away from Social Repose.
"Yeah." There was silence for a while after that. Social Repose thought it was just going to take a moment for her to get used to the idea. But then he heard a hiccup followed by a curse. "What's the matter?" He asked her. Scooting closer.
"I just always thought that I would choose who I married. I figured it would be love and not political. I figured I'd get to marry the person I love." She whispered the last part.
This would have been just another statement from Indigo about how she hated the human world had it not been for the fact that she said love not loved. Not even will love.
"Who would you have marry you then?" He asked swallowing air that seemed so thick that you needed to chew it.
Indigo turned around and looked Social Repose in the eye with her glossy bloodshot ones "you." It was a simplest of statements but it meant so much.
"Then why don't you?" He asked half dazed. She wanted to spend forever with him.
"What?" She asked shocked.
"Why don't we get married?" He asked smiling wider every time the thought crossed his mind.
"Richie, what about the Galec and my father and peace?" She asked as he got caught up in a whirlwind.
"Who cares about them? We could be happy together, we could have everything. You could be yourself." He said and Indigo wanted to be happy with him. Her whole being did but there was something holding her back.
"I don't know." She finally said.
There was a long time before anyone spoke. Then Social Repose got up and walked over to the edge of the Forest picked up something indigo couldn't see and then began walking back to Indigo.
He sat next to her and took her hand. "Indigo, will you take this ring under the presence of being my wife from this day until the end of time?" He held up a coiled root with a daisy tied to the top.
Indigo knew exactly what this would mean . She knew she would be ruining her country's chance at peace.
But it didn't bother her.
"Yes." She took the ring and he kissed her like the world was ending. "It has to be secret though. For now at least."she said breathlessly.
" As long as I have you in my arms at the end of the day I don't care who knows." Social Repose said and indigo melted a little more.
"Wait here. I'll be right back." Indigo said and then ran as fast as she could and then a little more to her room. She grabbed the dress made from flowers and the flower crown for good measure. She ran back to the forest going as unnoticed as she could.
Once at the edge she removed her current dress and replaced it with the one in hand. She struggled with the crown and thought of leaving it behind before an elf saw and helped.
She walked back to the clearing her stomach doing turns as she walked farther in.
She reached the field and was shocked to find it holding only one solitary fairy. It was sir Ligon. Lucinthia's husband before she died. His gray head looked up at the rustle of grass as she walked. "My queen, it would do me a great honor to walk to down the aisle in place of your father." He said and she simply took his arm.
Indigo walked past the perimeter of trees and was shocked to find the entire enchanted Forest standing in a crowd split in half with Social Repose at the other end and Sahara at his feet. It was a long walk from where she was to the end and every step made it harder to breath but she took every single one.
Once she reached him her world was silent except for his voice. "They made us a wedding faster than your father declared war." He whispered as the man started to talk.
Indigo smiled and then looked down confused. "You made the cat your best man?" She asked quietly a little laughter in her tone.
"I made my best friend my best man." He said confidently.
"Who is a cat?" Indigo raised her eye brow.
"Your best friend is fairy. Don't judge." He said.
"No my best friend is human. And I'm marrying them." She said and social repose looked at her longingly.
Shortly after that the vows were said and the marriage was complete.
"This is forever. If that's the truth then forever is blissful." Social repose whispered into indigo's ear, while they were dancing. Indigo smiled and laughed a little.
It was a good night. One of the last.
Suddenly there was a rumble from the ground and screams echoed from the south side of the woods.

Hey. So the next couple chapters will be kinda fast and kinda sad. This is, as it said, the last actually good night. So um star comment and add. Comment if you thought this was too fast just right or whatever and if you saw this coming at all..... If anyone can draw what they thought the wedding looked like I'll make it the media for this chapter
