The Crystal Ball Academy is one of the most respected academies in the country. The students here learn about magic arts and the skills needed to control and combine them. The students come from various backgrounds and different parts of the world. The staff of the Academy is some of the leading members of the Magical society. The Academy houses research labs, sports centers, huge lecture halls, practice atrium, open sky battlefields, contained simulators, and student dormitories. 

Primarily, magic arts deal with the basic elements of nature that include: Water, Fire, and Earth. 

Many common people are able to control these basic elements to some degrees. However, many people have been known to take these basic elements and manipulate them to severe degrees as well. 

Basic elements also include another pair of rather harsher elements: Ice and Wind. The two elements were separated from the basic elements because of their rarity and strength. It is much harder to control the two elements. 

Advanced elements include Sound, Plasma, and Electricity.

The three advanced elements have been mastered in the new age. Rivaling Academy, The Brain, leads the research and manpower in fields dealing the advanced elements. The three elements are constantly evolving and new inventions are on a rise. 

Students at the Crystal Ball Academy learn to combine two or more elements and control them. Most first and second-year students only deal with 2 elements at once. Third and Fourth-year students are able to control and combine 3 elements. But a student's strength isn't determined by the number of elements he/she can control and combine. There have been many a great who defeated armies using a single basic element. 

There are certain people who have been known to manipulate non-physical elements known as abstractions. The four major abstractions are Life, Death, Love and Time. Even though manipulators of abstractions are rare, they are some of the most dangerous humans to walk the Earth. Combinations of three abstractions have only been mastered by one human. Tales and folklore say that "human" wasn't even the correct word to describe them. It has been years since the world has witnessed any Abstraction manipulator until now.
