Chapter 4: Kumatetsu and Hidden feelings

Is that really the reason why humans and beast live separately,

Darkness

Is that the reason she's so strong, not because of magic, being in her mothers light.

All this talk among them, is really pissing Hannah off, the only way to do that, not only that but those two Baka beast are fighting and attracting a crowd,

"How about you both shut up!"
Both beast look at Hannah as she shouts, her bangs cover her eyes,

"Darkness, that's"

"Am I as bright as you mama"

"Bright? I am a user of holy magic, I don't have a single shard of darkness, as for you as long as I'm here-"

"I'll always protect you" Hannah says her bang covering her eyes,

"But" lozen looks worried at her tone, it sounds dead, empty, the sound of someone giving up. Tatara and bo-bo look at her concerned, this is different from the child they met, and kumatetsu looks at her with a unreadable expression,

"My mom, she's not here, she can't protect me" Hannah's hair starts changing Colour, her black hair turning red,

"Hold on doesn't her hair" Tatara says biting his finger,

"Yeah, it's almost like, no it is the same shade..of kumatetsu fur" bo-bo finishes his monkey-beast friends thoughts, she looks up and glares at lozen,

"Let me show you, my darkness" a mixture of scarlet eyes and ocean blue eyes stare at lozenges with a challenge, a pulse of power blast lozen's students away, Hannah takes one step forward destroying the ground,

"Oh my what have we here" everyone jolts back in surprise as the lord of the land himself appears,

"Who are yo-" Hannah eyes rolls to the back of her head and she falls unconscious, her hair returns to the same Shade as before and the power surrounding her from before disappears,

"Hm, it's much to early for you young one" the lord is a rabbit with a long beard and eyebrows, he's holding wheat stick and all he simply did was touch her with it,

"Now as for you two" he turns his gaze to kumatetsu and lozen,

"What is going on here?"

"Forgive me sir, kumatetsu brought a human here, I ask that he be punished" lozen request his lord, the lord turns to kumatetsu he stops as he sees him holding Hannah looking at her concerned, the lord smiles, all his time as kumatetsu teacher but not once has he ever seen a expression like that on his face,

"I don't care, she's going to be my apprentice" kumatetsu turns his gaze to his lord, staring at him with determination, and something he didn't think the lord thought he would never see again, the last time he had that look was 9 years ago,

"I'm going to keep my promise no matter what"

"Promise?" Lozen says, wondering who this promise is for, the lord on the other hand knows all about it,

"Very well then I'll be the one who takes the responsibility, after all he was merely following my orders to seek out a apprentice" the lord says, kumatetsu by now is walking away,

"But should the darkness in her heart consume her, you saw it sir, it's already at the surface" lozen says trying to convince his lord to reconsider, the lord chuckles,

"Oh lozen, it's so much more, she's so much more" the lord says looking at kumatetsu retreating back,

"What do you mean sir?" Lozen ask, somehow while he was staring at the lord, he appears behind lozen, like he teleported,

"That is personal information, the only way to find out is by asking kumatetsu himself, but he won't reveal it so easily..his secret that's been held for 10 years" before lozen can ask anymore, the lord disappears once again.

Hannah slowly opens her eyes, feeling pain all over,

"Hannah?" She turns her sight to kumatetsu who's looking at her worried,

"Teddy, what..happened" the last thing she remembered was about to eat some watermelons, she groans and touches her head, feeling like she forgot something,

"You..blacked out, I found you passed out" kumatetsu lies, not wanting her to worry like before, how it triggered the transformation,

"You wouldn't pass out from hunger if you just ate what I give you" Hannah blushes in embarrassment, she's gone longer without eating so why pass out in a few hours,

"Huh" kumatetsu touches her head with surprising affection,

"Don't do that to me again" she blushes feeling warm inside, for some reason her mind goes to..food, her stomach growls at the moment snapping kumatetsu out of it,

"Looks like you're still hungry brat, there's still the food on the table if you want it" he says sitting at the end of the couch, Hannah silently gets up and sits at the table where snowball is munching on a grain of rice, she cracks one egg and mixes it with her rice,
She grabs a mouth full of rice with her chopsticks and eats it, for a few seconds it's quiet,

"It's actually pretty good" Hannah says smiling at him, kumatetsu smiles at her and burst out laughing, and soon she finds her self laughing along with his contagious laugh.
