"She has a heart of gold," Danny tried to explain. Rhea had, what she thought was all the looks' she had bleach blonde hair, bright blue eyes, all the newest fashion lines and all the guys wanted her. All except one.

Amelia was a quiet girl, she never spoke much, at lunch breaks she sat in the corner. Alone. She was smart, but didn't hang out with the 'nerds', she just stuck to her self. Rhea was envious. Amelia's faint brown hair and brown/green eyes were no competition for Rhea, so what was it that held Rhea's jealousy? Was it something as small as the fact that Danny spoke to her a lot more?

"Amelia!" they said loudly, almost standing on her flimsy summer dress. It was dark outside the cafeteria and the dim lights lit barely anything. When she lifted her head the first thing she saw was the undie shorts of three girls, she knew which three. Rhea, Jess and Tasha, they were the only ones who wore shorts like that. As Amelia lifted her eyes up to see their faces she saw the neck of the top Rhea was wearing, it sat so far down the girls boobs it was a puzzle whether any of them were covered.

"Ameli-freakin'-a!" Rhea spat at her.

"Y-yas," Spluttered Amelia, fumbling the word.

"Stand Up!" Jess said angrily, by now there was a loud and increasingly growing crowd gathered to see what all the yelling was about. Rhea, who saw Amelia wasn't in any hurry to move off the hard stone floor, raised her hand in a big, boney fist,

"Get. Up." She murmured, each word a different sentence. She got up only to find her face between the cold, hard, brick wall of the cafeteria and Rhea's boney fist. Amelia had never been one of Rhea's many victims; she let out a cry of pain.

"Natasha! Rhea! Jessica!" Mr. Ryhn's deep voice boomed. The crowd cleared away mumbling things to each other.

"Sir?" Tasha said flashing her teeth that had a major overbite.

"Principals office. Now," he comanded pointing in the direction of the classrooms.

"Next time, I will get you," Rhea spat.

In the toilets, sat the girl. She had a bruise stretched from her eyebrow down to her chin on her right cheek, on her left, a purple shape that could be made out as a fist, the result of yesterday's happenings. The toilet? She was afraid, full of fair, that they would beat her if she left. She heard the loud groan of the old bathroom door open.

"Please, please, please, don't be Rhea," she pleaded to herself. When the toilet flushed she then knew, thought, she was safe. The door creaked shut and she relaxed. With a loud crack all the toilet cubicles jolted. The door, she realized, had been pushed open with great force.

"Right! Ya little rat! Come out here," each word was pronounced over accurately. She didn't dare to breathe a single drop of the musky bathroom air.

"Meel! We know you're in here!" the sound echoed, causing it to seem louder than it actually was.

No one calls her Meels, not anymore. Not since her dad died.

"Two dislocated fingers and a sprained wrist," it was Danny.

"Thank you Dr. Danny," even though she was injured, she was still able to make jokes and laugh at them.

"What did you do anyway?"

"Who said I did anything?"

"You're right she's probably just jealous."

"Danny? Do you think she's jealous of what we have?"

"Don't know but they wont get you again without consequences."

"Right, she's asking for it," Rhea said violently.

"She's just saying good bye to him," Tasha replied trying to stop her friends.

"Natasha, are with her or us?"Jess challenged her sister.

"You! Jesus why would I go with her?" Tasha shrieked, she knew that what she was doing is wrong.

"You came over because Danny left," Amelia accused the three girls. Rhea pushed her onto the footpath next push she would be on the road with the racing traffic.

"How dare you accuse us," Jess said.

"Sorry," Amelia mumbled.

Jess pushed through Rhea and shoved Amelia. She tripped on the gutter and fell over into the oncoming traffic.

Beep. Beep. Beep. The monitor ticked.

"Danny I'm so sorry, I don't know why I helped them," Tasha Sobbed.

Rhea came through the hospital door. "Why do you even like the worthless piece of crap?" she demanded.

"She was never worthless!" he yelled, then tried to explain, " she has a heart of gold.

The monitor went silent.
