Many thought I was crazy
They thought I wouldn't make it
They thought I was different
But the truth was
It was them
I was perfectly fine
Nothing wrong
I every once in a while have a dream
Same thing every time
People screaming
With a small light
Almost like a flame
I don't even know why I'm here
I stared out my window
Of an insane asylum
I saw colors
I saw trees
I saw a garden
I saw a river
I saw nurses
And other crazies
I saw
The outside world
They saw their families
Their friends they saw their past
But we all know
That is not what is there
I haven't left my room in ages
People no longer come to my room
Just the banging on the walls
"You're crazy! You're crazy!"
No
I thought
It's you
One day
A nurse finally came to my room
"Do you need anything?"
I glared at her
"You haven't come to see me for weeks."
Her face turned confused
"I'm sorry, I come in here everyday. Have you taken your medication?"
I nodded my head
Knowing that in fact I didn't
"May I go outside? I want to see the river and flowers."
She once again looked confused
"You can go outside, but there is no river, no flowers. Just a full garden with wilted trees. It's not that cheerful is you ask me. I'd rather stay in here."
"What? But I saw it! It's there! I'm not crazy! Tell me one reason you people have me locked in here?"
She saddened
"You lit a family's home on fire."
The memories started to replenish
I had
Maybe their right
Maybe I am insane
