Feelings

You’ve had a crush on Archie for a really long time. The way he smiled, the way he talked or sang…Everything used to make your heart flatter, stomach full of butterflies. But it all changed when, after such a long time, you confessed and he turned you down.

He said something along the lines:
“I never thought about us in that way. I’m sorry.” You knew it would happen. The guys you liked never liked you back, no surprise there.

You told him so you could move on, you were tired of feeling this way. And surprisingly, it worked.

Since you’ve poured your heart out to Archie you haven’t had a normal conversation with him. There was just this weird tension between the two of you none of you’ve been comfortable with.

To be honest you missed him. He was one of your best friends since your childhood, the other being Jughead. That’s who you’ve been spending all your time with during this past weeks. Small talks, some laughs and occasionally you even managed to steal some food from him when you were at Pop’s.

You realised that you felt happier now that you weren’t thinking about something that wasn’t meant to happen. You've always been close with Jughead, but you started to feel something between the two of you. Something more. Maybe you never noticed because you’ve been blinded by your obsession for Archie or maybe your mind was just playing tricks on you, but suddenly you saw the looks Jughead had in store for you.

The one full of admiration which you received when you gave a good advice to someone, the worried one which you received whenever you felt down even tho you tried to hide it, the caring one…You saw a hint of something in every one of them. A hint of something you haven’t received from anyone else.

Nevertheless, there was one look you still haven’t noticed and that was the one full of love you received whenever you weren’t looking. With this last one you had a little bit of help from Ronnie who pointed it out as “obvious.”

You’ve always loved Jughead. But you never thought about him in that way until now. You just didn’t consider it, not because you would be against it but as mentioned, Archie was everything you’ve ever thought about.

But now with no romantic thoughts about him you had plenty of time to think about Jughead. And oh man, you really did.

And you were thinking about him now as well while you were waiting for him in your room because of the movie night you were about to had.

The bell rang as your heart pounded excitedly. You ran down the stairs, opened the door and there he was, wearing his typical grey beanie and carrying a bag that probably had his notebook in it. There was no doubt that he was coming from Pop’s. You welcomed him with a warm smile as always, leading him to your room.

“So what movie are we watching tonight?” you asked smiling.

“I don’t know, I might let you choose it for once.” he teased with butterflies in his stomach like everytime you smiled.

“Well, thank you Romeo.” you teased back. This gave you an idea.

“Let’s watch Romeo and Juliet! I actually can’t believe we haven’t seen it together yet.”

“Sounds good to me.” he agreed, putting down his bag.

He sat down on a couch, while you were preparing the movie.

“Oh, by the way, I actually brought food this time,” he said pulling fries and burgers out of his bag, “so you won’t complain about how hungry you are as you did last time.”

“Really? That’s funny because I remember it differently. I remember how I wanted to enjoy the movie but your stomach kept growling and you kept complaining about it.” you grinned at him.
