"I hate you!" I yelled slamming the door behind me.
I hate everyone that lived and breathed in this house. I was stomping around and hitting the wall like a mad woman. Finally throwing my last tantrum, I looked around to see if anyone was watching me. Then and only then, I saw him. Standing under the pear tree was a tall slim man. He seemed to be waiting for someone. He wore a black pants ripped at the knees and his white polo shirt tucked neatly in his pants. He seemed to have weighed heavy thoughts. He was not afraid, nor did he look a bit intimidated. Rather, he stood confidently and patiently, awaiting our presence.
Attempting to turn my head away from meeting his eyes as he faced me, our eyes locked. I felt as if I was looking directly in the eye of a crocodile's eyes in which I trespassed on its land. His eyes were ocean blue eyes had me mesmerized as I looked right through them. Strolling towards me, his biceps glistened with every step he took. I felt uneasy and the urge to call my mother grew strong inside me.
"Good afternoon, please fear me not," he said trying to reassure me that everything was okay.
"Afternoon. What brings you here today sir?"
"I would like to have a word with your mother."
"Ma! Some English-speaking stranger is here to see you!" I yelled.
"For Christ sake, when will you stop being so loud and vulgar?" She asked as she stopped at the doorway cleaning her hand in a blue handkerchief.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance of her unnecessary statement in front of such a stranger. She always has to embarrass me in front of a stranger who doesn't even know me that well. After taking what seemed to be eternity to wipe her hands, she finally looked up at the stranger.
"Why-What the hell are you doing here?" She blurted out.
"Mother, watch your language, remember I am still standing here.
"The question I would like to ask is, why the hell did you keep me away from my child?"
"I kept you away because you had an affair with Princess Olivia!" Mother barked.
"Jess, you had two daughters who are fraternal twins, why would you sell one and keep the other away from me?"
"I sold Alexia because your annoying girlfriend Olivia wanted you for herself and she couldn't get pregnant!" Mother hissed.
     "Wait, what?"
"Jerome is your biological father, not Paul Wesley.
"To be honest jess, if you haven't been shutting me out of my child's life, this wouldn't have turned into an ugly mess making me feel bad."
"You both have a right to feel bad. You kept my father a secret and you mister didn't even try to tear down mother's barriers. How could you do this to me? You told me you grew up without a father and obviously, you have been hiding mine. I thought you wanted the best for me."
"Honey, I do, but I did what I thought was best for you."
"Yes, you're right, you did what you thought was best for me!"
"Jess, can I speak with you privately by the end of the driveway?"
"Don't be looking at me for assurance, you lost that the moment I found out my whole life was a lie you made up.
She walked slowly to his side where she stopped in her tracks, allowing him to lead the way. I could tell that she was both nervous and afraid by the way her knees buckled together s they trembled. He stopped and faced her. With three steps, he closed the distance that was between them. This man seemed to be truly daring, but it was an intriguing attitude. He bent his head and whispered something in mother's ear. With every word, she cringed as though his words were piercing through her body. She turned and looked at me as he regained his previous position.
"Jerome, I understand that you want the twins to get acquainted with each other, but Alecia on the other hand, is a girl who gets very emotional when things don't go her way. Are you ready for that?"
I can't believe they were seriously actually talking about who I should live with, without my knowledge. That was totally unfair. They returned to the doorway. It seemed as if the tension ha die down a little, because mother was walking perfectly fine when she strolled back over here.
"Alecia, as much as I hate to say this, you will be going to live with your father Jerome."
"Are you kidding! Midterms is around the corner, I just got on the cheerleading team and I just got my first date with the hottest footballer on campus, and you're taking all that away from me?"
"Alecia, you could join the cheer squad at your new school."
"Great! Do I even get to take my favorite sweater grandmother pearl made?"
"I'm sure you'll like the ones your father bought for you. Good bye sweetie, see you in the summer," she said kissing me.
We both burst into tears and squeezed each other. I finally let go of her and walked side by side with Jerome. I opened the door to the limo and looked back at mom.
"I promise to write you every day," was the last good words that I left with her
The driver started the engines and drove away from our yard. I waved goodbye until mother was no more to be seen.
