For those I have loved

And may the lightening between us strike,

And rupture the corrugated iron of your heart,

And may all the your feeling stream through the twisted refuse of your past self,

and the ocean that surges forth from the stagnant remnants of your fathomless and forgotten soul,

Cleanse the impurity of your doubt, you fear and your pain,

Leaving behind the lush and open tundra of your potential,

Free and quivering in the whirlwind of your imagination,

And may you never forget the thunder that precedes the storm,

and the hushed and fearful heartbeat before the fatal strike.

And now in the eye of the tempest,

may this stillness remind you of the taste of excitement,

of silence,

and the joy of peace,

savor these moments before the seasons change.

Before you must face the bitter cold of winter,

with nothing but the soles of your naked feet and you own arms for warmth.

remember what it means to be broken,

to be lost

and remember what it feels like to find you are not alone in the winding labyrinth of life,

and that I am only a hedge removed,

racing alongside you in the dark,

lighting street lamps and pointing you through doorways,

Never fear the midnights,

the star filled skies that remind you of how far from home you've sailed or how small you are at sea.

Know that the world is your oyster and that beneath the surface lies a multitude of creatures,

so blinded by the depths of their ignorance they can't even see the pinpricks of dawn on the horizon.

Remember THAT light,

THAT hope,

and keep it with you always,

a talisman against the monsters that lurk within,

more fearsome then even the greatest dragons or enigmatic sphinxes.

The specters of your own conscious,

that haunt the fringes of you mind,

threatening to pull you into the abyss.

and it they do,

if your soul grows weary and your arms grow heavy,

know that I will save you from this darkness and carry you ashore.

Like cupid I will gather all the soporific clouds,

I will save you from your weakness,

because I love you,

and know that-

though I am invisible,

I am not a monster.

Trust that I am neither a dream nor a nightmare,

and that I will be beside you though the night.

Even if I cannot share your sunshine.
