"Aiden get off of me!" I yelled complaining. I had woken up to him jumping up and down on my bed to wake me up.
"Well get up you turd." He said climbing down. His insults fit his age.
I got out of my bed then out into the kitchen for breakfast. "What's the plan for today?" I said shoving cereal into my mouth.
"Well the day is half over." She said signaling to the clock. It was already noon. I slept until noon, in this time zone. At home it was 3:00.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked rushing into my room to get dressed.
"I figured you needed sleep." She answered.
I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror...I felt disgusting. I didn't take a shower last night, then I slept for a solid 12 hours. Not to mention the mascara that was still attached to my face from yesterday.
"Do you have a plan?" I yelled out to the other room.
"I figured you did!" My mother yelled back.
"Well I don't...yet." I said as she walked into my room to contain the yelling. "I was gonna take a shower now."
"M-Kay." She leaned over the counter and looked at me through the mirror. "Do you want to talk about last night?" She asked.
"Not really." I said remembering exactly what had happened. I turned around and twisted the knob for the shower.
"It wasn't him was it?" She asked, thinking it was Ross who made me cry.
"Oh no." I said correcting her. "He actually did your job for you." I laughed to myself.
"Alright...you're okay though?" She asked.
"I'm fine." I said grabbing my toiletries from my bag.
"Good." She leaned up again and put her hands on her hips. "I'm taking Aiden out to the beach. You're welcome to come out with us or do whatever." She paused. "Just let me know where you are."
"Alright." She started walking out so I started shutting the door on her. I hopped in the shower, and let some of my stress flow down the drain. I decided that today I would just relax. One day with my family wouldn't hurt.
I finished up and got out, putting on my swim suit and heading out to the beach. I texted Ross, letting him know my plan.
I walked out onto the beach meeting up with my mom and brother. Setting my towel down on the sand and taking a seat. I grabbed my headphones and turned on some music, laying down to chill. Of course that didn't last long, it came to an end as Aiden took my phone and blasted the volume without my knowledge. Scaring me half to death.
"Really?" I said grabbing sand and throwing it at him.
"Hey!" He yelled, then threw some back. I turned away and felt the sand scatter along my back. I started standing up to grab him but he ran away. I started chasing him and it eventually turned into a water fight.
That's what I did today-classic family beach day, no worrying over who sees me or what's going on online.
I made it back to my towel, covered in sand. Aiden had attacked me after playing in the water. I sat down and put my earbuds back in. It was sunset and time to settle down a bit. As I dried off, I started swiping the sand off of me, trying the shake it out of my hair.
I felt my phone buzzing next to me, getting a phone call. No surprise it was Ross, I stopped my sand dusting and picked it up.
"Hey, what's up?" I answered.
"So quick question, I know you're busy, so it's only a minute." He said in a rush.
"It's fine, I'm not busy." I said continuing to pick of sand particles.
"Okay, anyways, there's an R5 concert tomorrow and I was wondering if you wanted to tag along?"
"Yeah, definitely." I answered. "Do I have to get tickets..?"
"On me. You don't need tickets."
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yeah, you're not really going to be in the audience anyways."
"Alright, well what time should I be ready?" I thought for a second, "or I could drive, but I don't know where to go so-"
"I'll come pick you up."
"Okay. Time?"
"Eight?"
"Eight works." I said looking at my mom, confirming the time and she nodded. "Yeah, eight works."
"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow then." He said finishing up the call.
"Perfect." I grinned. "I'll see you tomorrow."
