Chapter Ten:
"Do I look okay, Kyle? Truthful opinion, please." I told him, inspecting myself in the full-length mirror. I put on an orange Hollister strapless blouse, and ripped-up skinny jeans. "Movie date appropiate?" I asked Kyle. Kyle rolled his eyes, and looked me up and down.
"You look swell. Now shut up." I sighed, and grabbed my navy blue hoodie.
"Hey, don't wear that." Kyle snapped at me.
"Why?" I asked. Why would he tell me not to wear my hoodie?
"Because if you do that, then there would be no way Marcus is going to give you his jacket."
I gasped, and spun around, looking him straight in the eyes. "Dude, you're like, turning gay on me?" I asked worryingly.
"Me, turning gay? Heck no. I'm just trying to give you a simple rule gesture, and you're asking if I'm gay? Harsh, Fare. Very harsh."
I rolled my eyes, and threw my hoodie at his head. "Okay. Whatever."
When Kyle walked out of my room, I turned off my lights on the way out; heading nervously downstairs. I heard the door bell ring, and Kyle pinned me up against the wall, blocking my escape.
"Hey!" I yelled.
"Let me check it. You stay here." I rolled my eyes, and watched him open the door.
"Ello. Perhaps Farah Is there?"
"Nope." I gasped, and rushed toward the door. I smacked Kyle in the face, and started laughing.
"I'm here. Sorry 'bout that." I put my arm through Marcus's, and walked down the porch stairs. He smiled at the gesture, and unlocked his truck. Marcus opened the passenger door for me, and I climbed in.
**
"So, did you like the movie?" Marcus asked. I smiled, and nodded. We saw The Hunger Games, which was epic.
"You want to go get something?" He asked me.
"Yeah."
"Do you like cinnamon rolls? I've been craving one from Cinnabon. Is that okay?" He asked, reaching for my hand. I nodded, and had another one of those goofy smiles.
We headed into Cinnabon, and Marcus bought me a cinnamon roll. We cut up half the time while we were eating. Hopefully I wasn't such a turn off since I acted so stupidly. It felt natural, just like with Kyle. Kyle...I checked my phone quickly, and he surprisingly, no texts from him. I smiled to myself knowing he actually got the idea of leaving me alone on my date. Then right when I was about to shove my iPhone into my jean pocket, it chimes. And we all know who it's from. Kyle.
"I have a C emergency. "
I shook my head, knowing the fact he needs a condom. I quickly flashed my eyes at Marcus, who didn't seem to get my aggravated expressions on my face.
"Get over it."
"Do you want me to get her preggo?"
"I wouldn't care one bit."
"Okay. Well, help me out here! Any in your room?"
I sighed, and was about to ignore him, until I realized I didn't want Kyle to get Kristin pregnant. Plus, my mom gave me a whole bunch because she's a doctor.
"Top shelf." And with that, I put my phone on silent and locked it. I simply smiled at Marcus, who seemed worried.
"Kyle... needed something." Marcus just nodded. I smiled, as he picked up both of our trash, throwing it away.
When we walked out of Cinnabon, a windy breeze brushed us. I shivered, and Marcus seemed to realize it as well. He smirked, and shrugged off his jacket, placing it unto my shoulders. That's why Kyle told me not to wear a jacket! I thought.
**
"Okay. I'll be the supportive best friend now, and listen all about your date." Kyle told me sarcastically. "Just don't watch me while I put in the ear-plugs. Okay?"
I rolled my eyes, and leaned back unto my bed. I had the best night (If only you subtract Kyle needing a 'C' emergency). At that thought, I looked over to Kyle.
"Boy, you better be clean, and not have STD's before you come by me."
He laughed, and ran his hand through my hair. "Well, yeah I am."
"Good." I told him, snuggling up to him on my bed. He just put in Twilight, and we had popcorn in a bowl that we were sharing, right beside us.
"So, you just had to do it with Kristin?" I asked him sarcastically.
"Actually, Gillian. I found Kristin cheating on me right after you left. And well, I ran into Gillian at Burger King."
I gasped. "Bro! Dude! I told you she would!" I yelled. Yeah, I know. I'm such a bad friend.
Kyle sighed. "Well, I like Gillian sorta now."
"Obviously." I mumbled, shivering, even though I had my blanket wrapped around me. Kyle reached beside the bed toward the ground, and grabbed my orange snuggie.
"Here you go. I bet you're tired."
"Mhm." I mumbled, wrapping my arms around Kyle. He kissed my forehead, and I was asleep within a minute.
