"Didn't you hear, Ann got a new man."
"I heard Ann is in someone's bed again."
"Dan's going to the army again."
"I thought Evans baby days were over."
Murmers and gossips crowed were in my living room.
"How are you, Penelope?"
My head lifted up and my eyes saw Mrs.Tently. Her chubby face was making that funny smile.
"I'm good thanks mam."
I drew my eyes back to the floor to avoid anymore conversation.
Where was mom?
"Penelope how was school?"
"Good thanks."Uhgg please don't talk to me.
"No, I don't want any drinks."
I hated my mom's gathering parties. Everyone talks to you at once. I was told to socialize.
I tucked my hair behind my ear and locked myself in the bathroom.
The soap dispenser was half empty.
The mirror has a crack in it.
The wallpaper is peeling off.Dad said he was going to fix it all but he hasn't come back home in three days.
Mom says the government doesn't like daddy too much. But she also said he's okay.
Nowadays mom always has the radio on. Where ever she goes. I ask her if something wrong but she replies with "nothing, I'm just listening just incase."
Mom stoped planting in her garden. Our lawn has turned a dry color.
I don't get Fancy dresses anymore.
Or necklaces.I heard my dad say something before he left.
Even when your garden has no flowers, I will still love you.
