The sky is crying
flashing lights blind us; shakes our souls
the sound of the earth's heartbeat
rattles your bones
are you afraid?
if your hands shake,
if your heart aches
and you feel you can't go on,
I'll hold you close
warm your ice-cold hands
and sing to you your favorite song
when you fall and can't get up
when the light in your eyes has gone out
and your voice trembles and quakes
I'll stay with you the entire night
chase away your nightmares
and be there when you wake
open your eyes
storm has passed
you're alive and safe and sound
dry those tears
spread your wings and fly
and don't ever come back down
when you smile you mean it
your laugh is full
the light's back in your eyes
should it ever leave
i'll stay with you through the night
until we see sunrise
