Gaston and Jade held hands as they walked up the hill. They were giggling about something Frederick had said earlier that day. "But Jade his argument was stupid!", Gaston said. "Yet hilarious", she added. He threw his back in a fit of laughter. She giggled trying to muffle the sounds with her hands. Gaston's laughter died down. He looked at Jade. "Jade he said that if we ate peppers we would magically become  good-looking fellows. Jade does that sound logical"? They tried to hold back their laughter, but it was no use. They fell to their knees, holding their guts.

Their laughter was heard down at the village. They smiled and kept doing whatever it was that they were doing. The two laid down on the grass. Jade smiled at the sky, Gaston looking over at her. 'What are you doing mon fille"? "Did you just call me your girl in French, Les tres fou garcon"? "Did you just call me a crazy boy in French, Mon Fille?", Gaston smirked, knowing Jade hated when he said that. Jade playfully shoved him. "Ow! Jade that was mean", he joked. "I know", she replied. Gaston let out a chuckle, as did she.

Gaston looked at her again. "I have to eat", he said plainly. "Gaston you just had breakfeast". "I know. I have to eat 4 dozen eggs", Gaston said. "Raw", he added knowing it made Jade upset. "I hope you die then". "Oh sure you do. Admit it Jade, you love me". "Les fou garcon". He smiled. Jade returned the gesture. She grabbed his hand. "Mon garcon, there is no one I would rather spend my time with then you". "Your boy, mon fille"? He smirked at her. She hit his shoulder. "Oh shut up Gaston, you know what I meant".

"Do I"? "You should". He rolled his eyes. "Women", he said. "Men", she replied. He smiled. She smirked. Gaston's smile got wider. Until he saw her dad coming up the hill. Her father never liked Gaston. Gaston shot up from the ground. Jade did to. "Papa what are you doing up here?", she said nervously. Her father glared at Gaston. "Boy what are you doing with my daughter", he growled. Gaston opened his mouth, but Jade cut him off. "Nothing Papa, just him recommending that I should hang out with some girls so I become a Lady. Her father smiled.

"Great, you can do that in Paris"! "WHAT!", they yelled in unison. "Yes we are moving to Paris, to give you a better chance at life. And you can meet your cousin, Belle". She frowned. "But Papa what about Gaston? I might never see him again"! "I know that's the beast part! You won't!", he said. Jade let out a sob. Gaston wrapped his arms around her and let her cry on his shoulder. "Papa!", she wailed. Gaston held back some tears. Her father took her hand and brought her down the hill. They mounted the horse and they left.

Gaston watched as they faded from view. He sat at the top of the hill, watching, before whispering, "Mon fille".

Yes It's short. But the other chapters will be about 1,000-1,500 words. This chapter being 520 words. So I might have the next chapter up soon, when they're all grown up or something. Probably about 10-15 years later to allow time for Gaston to become a war hero and the town's hero and stuff. Let him become arrogant. Ya know? Typical Gaston.
