I was back home, the place I most loathed to be. I was in my old room, in my old town. I had come back to visit my mom before going to college. I left the town and everyone in it behind in the middle of Fall, two years ago. I basically ran away. I ran away from all my troubles and it was all going to catch up to me. Everything I messed up so completely was going to come and haunt me this summer. The flashbacks come fast and unwanted.
It was the day Ellie and I were supposed to go out to the movies. I remembered everything so vividly, she had been so excited for us to go out. She never stopped talking about it which pressured me into trying to make everything perfect for her. That's far from what happened...a kid in my class named Milo, decided he needed help studying for our upcoming test. He told me how he needed to ace the test to pass the class. He explained that he needed to pass so his mom wouldn't abuse him more. I remembered breaking the news to Ellie. She was heartbroken and ended up having a complete fit. I remembered the horrible fight we had over the phone. I remembered her breaking up with me the most too.
"You're bailing out on me to help some loner guy that nobody even knows!" She yelled at me through the phone
"You don't understand what's going on in his life, El" I replied to her my voice starting to shake
"No! You don't understand what it's like to have the person you love ditch you for a random person!" Ellie screamed, I could tell she was crying.
"So this is it?" I asked "just because I'm trying to help out a friend?"
"He's not your friend. You don't even know him." She said through tears.
"You didn't answer my question" I say my voice falling flat
"Yea" she replied sniffling "I think this should be the end of us.."
"Okay then..if that's what you think is best that's how it will be" I say. She didn't reply, she ended the call and that was it. She never texted and neither did I.
I slowly drifted back to the present and looked around my old room. All the framed pictures on the walls stared back at me. Some of me and Ellie, some of me And my old friends and some of me and Milo. I tried to get the images that kept coming back to me out of my mind. The memories hurt so bad, why wouldn't they get out of my mind? Why couldn't they just disappear?
I flopped on my bed and pulled my phone out of my pocket. No texts. No missed calls. Like usual. I turned on my iTunes playlist and closed my eyes. The first song to come on is Isle of Flightless birds by Twenty One Pilots.|| This is officially the first story I have started on wattpad, I'm working on the second chapter. I know this one is kinda short but I'm still working on it. It kinda left off on a cliff hanger, I'm evil I know hehe but the next part will be coming up soon! Please tell me what you think so far.||
