Warriors Fanfic: ~SunStream's Fate~

Chapter 6

Honeypaw woke and stretched. She looked at Rainfall, who was curled up in a nest. Mudflower said not to put him on any duties until he was healed. She grabbed some moss and dipped it in a small pool near the side of the den. She brought it to the tom, who raised his head drowsily and began drinking from the soaked moss. Mudflower was helping the elders bury Redfang and Honeypaw left the den. She grabbed a plump vole from the fresh kill pile and sat down. She began nibbling at it when her mother, CreamCloud, came over and sat next to her. "hello, honey" Her mother's voice was soothing to Honeypaw. "Hello" She meowed. "Have you seen Sunpaw and Featherpaw?" Creamcloud asked. "No. I think they might have gone on the dawn patrol or something" Honeypaw meowed between bites. "oh okay" Her mother meowed. Honeypaw saw her mentor returning. "well, I better go" She meowed to her mother as she followed her mentor. When they got in the den Mudflower was tending to RainFall. "we're low on Marigold and Feverfew. Can you go get some? And take a warrior with you. We can't be sure so soon after the attack" The tortoiseshell she-cat asked. Honeypaw left the den and soon spotted FoxFrost. "Hey Foxfrost" Honeypaw greeted her clanmate. "Would you like to come with me to restock on some herbs?" She asked. "Okay, you lead" Foxfrost meowed, getting to her paws and shaking off scraps of leaves from her fur. They left camp and soon entered the thick forest. The leaves were turning golden and red for Leaf fall and the sky was dyed a bright blue with only a flaming ball of yellow piercing it's wave-colored rhythm. Honeypaw led her clanmate towards the Moonclan border, where the marsh was. She soon scented a sharp pang of Marigold and found the stems growing in clumps. She began delicately nibbling at the stems, leaving enough of the sweet herb to grow back later. She signaled for Foxfrost to fllow as she managed to scent Feverfew over the tang of Marigold. Foxfrost began nibbling at the stems the same way Honeypaw had. They padded back to camp with plenty of herbs for the store.
