The Beast House. A place for beastlings to gather and chat while feeling comfortable. We have a fireplace to warm up our bodies from the cold night. We also have pretty beast ladies to welcome all kinds of visitors. Ha, i wish. This big old mansion is a place for beastlings who doesn't have a home. Which is most of us are children and teens. So it's more like of an orphanage. The oldest one around is Ruster. He is almost 25 years old. And the second one is me. 3 years younger than him. Which makes me 21 years old. No, wait 22. Yeah, I'm 22. I knew that. Anyway, because of the fact that we are old enough, we have to support the Beast House's "Financial Issue" by working at the blacksmith. It's a fun life, isn't it? But wait, it gets better. Have i mention that we beastlings gets bullied often by humans and elves? Yup. That Happened. A lot. Anyway, with the way things are. We should do what we can. Which is supporting each other like brothers and sisters and comrades and stuff. Even though some of us are a bit different with another, we are still beastlings.
So, back to the Beast House topic. The mansion was actually a home and owned by one single person who is currently the boss of the Beast House. Guess who it is? That's right! Jennifer Lopez! No, not her. I mean Madam Lyla McBunsloft. A rabbit beastling. She takes care of almost everything around here. From cooking, cleaning, gardening, and even all those paperworks. It's almost as if she has super power for doing that stuff all on her own. But unfortunately, she's not a superhero. But then again, even superheroes needs a sidekick. And that sidekick is known as, Miss Laura McBunsloft. Madam Lyla's nephew. she helps Madam Lyla with everything and i mean everything. The paperworks too. She also works part time at the cake shop downtown to help us by a bit. And because of she brings sweets that doesn't sell that day everytime she comes home, all the children likes her. Including Mr. Ruster. No, Especially Ruster. He gets embarrassed easily around her. It's so obvious to everyone. Except for Laura apparently.
Now that the day is done. And me and Rus have received our pay, we have to head back to the house. What a long day today. it's almost as if written in two chapters. I mean, the writer can write it into one big huge chapter but I'm sure he has things to do.
as we walk through the market. our ears are filled with the noises of the shopkeepers chanting their magic words to attract customers. And one common magic word is "discount". When that word comes out of a seller's mouth then they will be swarmed with customers. Anyhow, the market is as crowded as always. I mean, this city IS a trading center of the world. but suddenly.
"Hey um... Rex?"
Did someone called me? that rough voice. It can only mean one person.
"Wassup Rus?" I say as i look at his face.
"I was thinking um..." He says as he suddenly stopped and looks at the ground. I stopped walking as well and look at his face. The expression on his face is like he's thinking very hardly about something. I mean, he's all muscles and no brain. He can't think. He then looks at my face with a slight blush on his face said "Should i buy something for Miss Laura?"
Whoa there cowboy! Slow down! Calm your tail! I know he likes her but come on. Why the heck is he asking me? Who does he think i am? Prince Cassanova who has level 100 in charming skills? No! The only love experience i had is with a piece of roasted meat which ended with me murdering the meat with my teeth and into my stomach. Even so, i try to help him as much as i can.
"Hm... i dunno man. What are you planning on buying? We only get paid 30 gold coins a day. And we give 25 coins to madam Lyla. What can you get from 5 coins?"
"Well, you know, i have been saving up those coins. Now i have around 115 coins. With the one we get today, that makes it 120 coins."
"Dude! Seriously?! 30 more and you can buy that hunting axe! We can practice our hunting skills to the next level!"
"I know, but do i really need it? I can just make do with the old one. And i was thinking of buying a present of some sort for Miss Laura."
"Now hold up there buckaroo. I don't mean to barging in on your priorities or anything. But wouldn't it be better if you buy the axe, get more gold, and then buy something for her. Heck you can even buy a ring and propose to her!"
"W-w-what are you talking about?! No no no! I can't propose to her! Besides, i am not even worthy to even walk by her side."
This guy and his spinelessness pisses me off sometimes. But then again it's really fun to hang out with him. Me and Ruster kept on talking and walking all the way to the Beast House. But he always have Miss Laura in his mind all the time. Like 24/7. Can't he at least think for himself sometimes? But i gotta admit. It must be nice to like someone-oof! Did someone just bump onto me?
