"Ryder? What the?" Sam asked, wide-eyed.
Oh shit.
When all else fails, be a dumb blonde!
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Um, I'm Sam, remember Ryder?" he replied confused.
"Um, Ryder's my brother," I lied.
"Oh," Sam said, something clicking in his mind. "Dana, right?"
"Yeah. Nice to meet you."
"Oh, thank God! I thought Ryder was a cross-dresser for a second there and he was pretending to be a girl!" Sam heaved a sigh of relief.
I laughed awkwardly.
"So, what are you doing here? At St. Cecilia's?" I asked.
"Well, can you keep a secret?"
"Sure."
"I followed Ryder here."
"Why?"
"I thought there was something suspicious going on. I mean, he said we could never see you. So naturally, I thought something was up."
"Naturally."
"I heard him sneak out this morning and that just added to my suspicion."
I nodded.
"And I told him that I was onto him. So yeah, that's why I'm here."
"Uh-huh," I nodded, taking it all in.
"So do you want me to walk with you back to the train so Ryder doesn't find out that you're a stalker or are you gonna wait for him?" I asked.
Leave. Leave. Leave. Leave. Leave. Leave.
"Nah, I'll stay. I want to meet his girlfriend," Sam admitted.
Of course, nothing would ever go as planned, would it?
"Oh, okay." I sighed. "I'm going swimming. Bye," I nodded and grabbed the clump of clothes I had just changed out of, shoved them in my swimming bag and ran out the door.
I ran the three flights of stairs up to Matts bedroom, adrenilan and fear boosting me up. I burst in and threw my bag on his table.
"Dana? What are you doing?" Matt asked, observing me from his position on the lounge.
"I have to change back into Ryder! Sam's here!" I yelled, out of breath.
"Who?" Matt asked, puzzled.
"Doesn't matter! I just have to get changed!" I began undoing my shorts.
"Dana, we have a bathroom," Matt offered.
"No time!"
"Whoa! Matt! Who's your friend?"
I paused, my shorts half-way down my legs - luckily I had my swimmers underneath - and turned my head upwards. Standing in boxers was a guy about my age, looking wide-eyed at my stripping act.
"Matt hired a lap dancer," I joked.
"Nice," the guy nodded, obviously impressed.
"Now, who the hell is this?" I asked Matt.
"New roommate. His name's Noah," Matt sighed.
"Well, Noah. Could you please turn around so I can get changed?" I asked.
"Cant I watch you?" Noah pleaded.
"IM NOT A BLOODY LAP DANCER!" I yelled.
"And turning around," Noah said putting his hands in the surrender position and turning away.
