Chapter 3 - Fitting in

Mary was now in deep regret as she has just said something that was not meant to come out. The whole class are starring at her with their big goofy eyes some shocked at her and some confused.

"Ok thank you Mary for sharing that information" Ms Jones said. Suddenly the bell rings which means that it is time for break Mary was shocked at how quickly the time flies when you say something that was not meant to come out.

Mary is sitting down at her own table by herself and eating an apple that she picked up from the table before she left which had a note on it saying "Believe in yourself" Mary thinks that is probably from her Mum but it could be from Sara. While Mary is eating her apple Ms Jones comes to her.

"Mary can i talk to you about something"Ms Jones asked Mary knew that she was going to be in trouble and it is her first day in school.

"Yes Ms"Mary replied. They stepped outside of the classroom and when into a small cornered room.

"Mary i could see today that you were a little bit shy and that does concern me a lot as i am your teacher and will be for the rest of your year here in this school so if there is anything that there is that you want to get off your chest you can tell me."Ms Jones wondered

"Thank you Ms but i am fine it is only because i don't really like to talk a lot and i am shy. It has been quite hard for me to make friends in primary school and now i have to do it again as i am the only one from my school here which makes me feel a bit lonely and worried as i don't know what to do"Mary replied

Mary knew that soon or later Ms Jones was going to comment on what she said in class.

"Mary that is fine we are all new and we have a fresh start but one thing that i want to know is what you said in class. I understand that you like cars but why did you say the other thing about hating girly girls?"Ms Jones asked

"Ms Jones i am sorry i love cars but what i said just slipped out of my mouth as i was going to say spiders but in the end i ended up saying girly girls i didn't realise i am so sorry"Mary answered

"Mary it is fine what i will do is next after break i will tell the class about your mistake and tell them that you were meant to say spiders instead it is ok"Ms Jones said

"Thanks Mum.... i mean Ms you are the best"Mary commented and left to go back into the classroom.

Mary felt a bit embarrassed by what happened as Ms Jones acted like her mum and it slipped out and she went all red and so did Ms Jones. Quickly before Mary went into the classroom to eat her apple Ms Jones stopped her

"Mary Mary wait" Ms Jones shouted

"Yes Ms what is it"Mary asked

"You know when you just now called me your mum why was that was it an accident" Ms Jones questioned. Mary went all red. She then walked away. Ms Jones was confused but forgot about it.
