Tyler POV
We woke up and set out quickly. I started eating some of the food I had as Midnight ate what she could catch. We walked quickly for awhile.
"Adara should be making her way towards us at this point," I muttered quietly.
"She probably doesn't even know we're coming to get her."
"Yeah maybe." It makes me feel irritated, I always have to be there to make sure she's alright. She either gets poisoned or kidnapped in some way and it feels like it always happens when she's not paying attention.
It had to be noon, I couldn't tell what time it was because my watch stopped working and the sky always looked the same. I couldn't check my phone because it died for some reason. Nothing was working anymore, I was in another clearing which was right next to a highway. We walked in the tall grass fields and to the left of us was the highway. All the cars looked like they froze in time. Everyone was outside their cars trying to figure out what's going on. Each person was looking at the damage since it looked like they slammed into each other too. We walked even faster, this is starting to get a little worse than apocalyptic.
"What does this have to do with power?" Midnight pondered quietly.
"Not sure." We walked into another forest, we were almost there. I'm just surprised that no one put that tree out yet. I'm not so sure why she didn't.
"Do you think something's wrong with Adara? I know she couldn't have walked away without some scratch," Midnight inquired.
"Well I know she could've been hurt but she should be just fine now with her, fire healing abilities,"
"I know but that means she would be making her way back to us now and she would've put out that tree,"
"Well maybe she just waiting for us to find her, I don't really have an idea about this,"
"In the book, it said that her fire could be a beacon for help, it's supposed to go away if she's alright,"
"Then what else is supposed to be wrong with her?"
"I don't know." We walked on in silence, I hope she is alright. What is the worst she can get? Maybe I shouldn't ask, not a question I want to be answered. Maybe it's temporary, she'll be just fine when I find her. The tree was in the distance, it was getting brighter. It looked like the flames started growing, that's not a good thing.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Something is wrong at Adara's place, we have to move faster." Midnight commanded and we started running. It's probably void crawlers, they know she survived. I have to get there before something bad happens.
Adara POV
I had the terrifying dream about other people but, they were very familiar. I was in complete darkness, this girl with a flower in her hair had a wilted vine in her hands. Her face was weak but with a smile as if she is hiding a dark secret. Her skin was pale looking like she was undead. I walked to her but she turned to dust and blew away. Some of her dust came around my hands and my hands turned into blue fire. It didn't hurt, however, but it was so beautiful. It was like looking into the galaxy, so bright and strangely blue. Then I felt something whiff behind me, these blue eyes were surrounding me. Getting closer to it and it had these sharp teeth, then there were more of them! I turned around to run but there was the biggest of them all behind me.
"Why don't you reconsider? You can be the strongest person in my army, then we can take over the world." He said with a evil grin. I backed away in fear seeing the giant monster. He grinned more showing his sharp teeth and all the shadows around me started chasing me. I bolted, they were so disfigured and scary. My hands glowed with fire then I was on fire! I turned around and set them ablaze, they disappeared as ashes. I turned around and saw the big one again and he lunged at me.

I jolted awake and panted hard. Gripping the sheets I was under since I fell asleep in the middle of the floor. I was sweating like I just ran a mile. With scorch marks all over the floor and sheets but they quickly started to fade away.
"Adara, are you ok?" Brook asked as she wiped the sleep from her eyes. Everyone was waking up and moving around as well, jeez what time is it?
"Yeah, yeah, I'm alright," I muttered blankly. I have no idea what that was. Bella was trying to turn on the tv, but it wasn't working at all.
"Do you guys know what time it is? My phone is down." Sasha asked. My phone was down too, it was plugged in and everything.
"My phone is not charging at all," Tiana added.
"What is this? It's like the entire house is out of power!" Sasha shouted.
"Chill out girl, it'll probably come back on sooner or later," Tiana joked.
"Guys, it's not just the outlets," Bella responded while looking out the window. We went to look and saw that the cars usually speeding down the road had stopped in their tracks. Most of them either running off the road or in terrible accidents. Everyone was trying to start their cars, with no luck.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"I wish I knew but we have no way to find out," Brook remarked. I looked over to the forest again and saw the flaming tree. I wonder why it's still burning, or that it hasn't started a forest fire yet. It started getting bigger and brighter and I started to get a little dizzy. Everything was started to fade as a sparkly dark blue before I looked away before I almost passed out. What is wrong with me today? All of this is connected in some way, need to find out how. Then the blue eyes from my dream appeared, they vanished quickly. It's nothing, just a trick. Then saw them again, they were right outside the house.
"Well I guess we're playing outside today," Sasha sighed.
"No!- I mean, we can still play inside. There's no reason to go outside and besides it looks like it's going to rain," I stammered.
"It's December," Brook stated.
"Then it's gonna snow," I barked.
"Well alright, what are we going to do?" Bella asked.
"We can play cards." Sasha suggested. That was close, I don't want any of those monsters getting in here. What are those things? Whatever they are, they aren't friendly.
