Chapter 1 Who's following us?

"Eudora! Go get the laundry from the laundry mat while I'm cooking the food!" Mother demanded. "Alright mother." I said, my mother was bossy, but I learned not to talk back. I had amazing beautiful bright green eyes, dirty blonde hair with natural blonde highlights, and a birth mark on my chest shaped like a leopard running. I had a blue T-shirt and jeans on today. My mother had brown eyes, blonde hair, and a sleeve less shirt and a black skirt on. I set off. I walked to the laundry mat sense it wasn't far away. While I was walking a woman approached me, first she was harmless, I tried to ignore her, but when she got a few feet away I noticed the women had a snake tail. "Hello demigod, it'sss nice to ssssee you." The women said in a snake kind of voice. But all the people around her just acted casually. I was horrified, I didn't know what to do. The snake women attacted. I was only twelve, if I died, I'll die young. My mother would worry, even though she was bossy, she still cared. The women's very sharp claws scraped my arm, I could feel blood trickle down my skin. I grabbed a piece of paper that was on the sidewalk and thew it in the women's face. I ran so fast I lost the monster. Thank god! I thought. I walked to the laundry mat and came back home, I took a different path, to make sure I didn't see the monster again.
When I got home my mom was talking to this guy in a wheelchair, he looked very old, but he seemed to have this kind of aura. "Oh, there she is!" My mom said in her squeaky voice. "Who's this, mom?" I asked. The man said, "I'm Chiron, your mother has told me alot about you, Eudora." The man was harmless but still strange, to me. "Hello-" I said, I sat down uncomfortably. "Are you going to tell her or should I?" Mother said, I was confused, what was she talking about? Chiron nodded to my mom. My mom sighed and put down her glass. "Eudora, you may not believe me, but your a demigod," My mother said in a clam voice. "That explains why that snake women tried to attack me when I was going to the laundry mat, and all those other times people tried to attack me. But I'm confused. Explain." I said. "Chiron will tell you all that once you get to Camp Half-Blood." My mother said still in a clam voice. "Where am I going with this stranger?" That's the only thing I did understand right now, that I was going somewhere with a stranger. "Manhattan. I think, that's what I remember." My mother looked at Chiron. "Pack some clothes and some other things that you'll need, except food and your phone." My mother said, I did what she asked, like I was under a spell, but I wasn't. I think.

I followed Chiron outside, but I wondered how we were going to get there. I was thinking my mom made this whole camp thing up just to get rid of me. "How are we going to get there?" I asked Chiron. No answer. He walked me into the forest, I was getting worried, was he thinking of killing me? No, he seemed like a nice guy, right?
We got deeper into the forest, then Chiron stopped. Suddenly, he turned into a horse waste down. "Wow!" I said in amazement. "Get on we're going to Manhattan." Chiron said. I hopped on, Chiron was a centaur!
He galaped fast. I couldn't see the things around me. "We're being followed. Can't you sense it?" Chiron said. I did sense something, something was following us. "What is it?" I asked. "I don't know but it's slowing me down, so it's powerful." Chiron said. I didn't notice that he slowed down alot.
