Chivalry to virtue is much like temptation to the seven deadly sins.
Chivalry, in my opinion, is one of the best moral codes to follow. Gentlemen are those who follow Chivalry, and the common gentlemen is what gives men a much better reputation than all the evil in the world. Many boys and men have claimed to be gentlemen, however these modern day men clearly confuse the term Chivalry with respect. Merit that it is very similar to respect, Chivalry is a way of life, rather than a single word, and it has guidelines to it. These so claimed gentlemen should understand what it truly takes to be Chivalrous because in my opinion, what shapes a Man the most is having somebody to care about. If The following guidelines are not met in any aspect, then one is simply not Chivalrous:
Courage
Strength is given to those whom channel their inner passion in pretense to defend and protect the innocent. The only limitation to strength of any kind-physical, emotional, or mental- is a darkened mind.
Honor
Honor is not given, rather it is earned by giving servitude. To honor is to love and to not honor is to lust. Love, then one may honor. Honor, then one may lust but only with permission.
Justice
Justice is given when the virtues of one out way the evils of another. One may act in violence to the corrupt when necessary to protect the innocent, as long as the corrupt act in belligerence initially.
Mercy
Mercy is given when the demented transition from courage to wrath is stopped. 'To protect and defend from evil' is not 'To harm and offend until evil'. It is better to not be naturally aggressive. If one takes out his or her own aggression in violent manners, then it is up to the holder of Chivalry to not go to his or her level.
Courtesy
Courtesy is given to those whom lend a hand when appropriate. Simple empathy to emotion; a shoulder to lean on. To be there for some one emotionally and have compassion either physically or mentally.
Modesty
Modesty is given to those whom keep self-righteousness quiet and complements to others loud. Modesty is not being bashful; in fact, it is commonly misconcepted for being a synonym of modesty. Bashfulness is not willing to accept praise whatsoever, where modesty is not being easy to accept praise. Arrogance (pride) is the evil of Modesty.
• Charity
Charity is given to those whom give to the other less-fortunate of the innocent. Charity may only be thought of as strictly a monetary or financial virtue to the average person but, it isn't. Charity can be giving an apple to a child who could die the next day if he or she hadn't taken the apple. Replace the apple in the example with a shoulder to lean on. Charity can be similar to courtesy but they are fairly different. Give your time to those whom need it.

Let me be very clear-
I don't believe in these concepts because of what I have done right in my life, nobody is an angel, including me. The only reason that I believe in Chivalry so deeply is because I always find myself disobedient to the code. Yes, it is a very strong contradiction, but the philosophy still stands strong. I have messed up so many times in my life ;nevertheless, it has taught me so much. Chivalry is what led me to love. I only hope that what I wright can insight you upon limiting yourself and taking responsibility. But just don't listen to me, listen to yourself. If you have made mistakes that you know not to ever do again then let me know. Maybe I can add it to one of the seven words.
